really. Since somebody who doesn't know what they're doing will buy one and spend 3x as much just to keep it running. We should have stricter import laws.

Aha! The old Baron, Tank, Qlink, Flyscooter, Lance, Schwinn, TNG, Hyosung, Diamo, Daelim, CPI, Cobra, Argo, Chinese dumping ground, ay?
Wanna have some fun? Look thru the May issue of Scoot Magazine and check out the extensive scooter buying guide in it. And count how many of these models from all these different brand names look EXACTLY the same, right down to their fugly chrome trimmings!! The Chinese are now cloning not only good scooters, they're also making bad clones of their own bad clones!! |

Even the descriptions worry me.
Perhaps it is because I teach English, but reading the descriptions written for many of the machines makes me cringe at the possible build quality.
If they are trying to promote the quality of their machines, they better find someone who can speak and write the English language properly. I simply do not trust their ability to market in the US without a well written description etc. |

I noticed this scooter parked in our building's garage this weekend.
![]() Do you know that really cheap plastic smell of some bad Chinese products? That's what this smells like. Anyway, will the biggest problem that the owner faces be finding someone to fix it (as mentioned above) or might it actually fall apart while riding (I guess I have this stuck in my head after reading about Vietnamese scooters). Should I warn the new owner or "complement" him on the new scooter? |

It is thanks to sites like Modern Vespa I didn't fall in this trap. When I started looking online to see what was available I was overwhelmed with Chinese scoots. I thought...WOW, I can really afford one of these. Fortunately I am the type of person that investigates until I'm satified I'm making the right move. Now I have a Fly 150 and I am so happy with it I could shout for joy.

It says "Velocity MP150-04" on it but is advertised as something totally different (MC-P23). Looks like he's only taken it around the block- it has 0.5 miles on it. |
