Hi there,
I have seen blue indicator covers and a rear light cover available for the Vespa ET. I think these would look pretty cool as a mod. two questions:
- is this legal in uk? or will the normal amber and red colours shine through as normal??
- how easy is it to replace the light units?

any help/comments will be grateful.
cheers

My local vespa garage guy tells me it is cool to have colour indicators and backlight - so long as the bulbs are AMBER and RED and these shine through the plastic okay.
+ Rear of scooter should have strongly visible RED reflectors
all this should make the MOT chaps happy.

Can anyone suggest help/comments on changing the indicators? is this an easy task?

thanks

Hiya matey not 100% sure if it's legal or not but as you see many cars with them then suppose it must be. Might be worth double checking with the police to make sure. As for changing the lights you will only need to replace the lenses which are only a couple of screws in each lense. Just a tip don't overtighten them or you will crack the plastic as the bulbs are already amber but a couple of red bulbs for the tail/brake light

Having driven behind scooters with both clear and tinted rear signal lenses, I have to say that the amber lens covers are a lot more visible - especially during the daytime. Just something you may want to keep in mind (though I do agree that the clear lens covers look fantastic).

Hi,

the stock covers for the ET indicators are orange. To be street legal (don't know for sure in U.K) the replacement has to have homologation, testified by an E-number printed/molded in the part itself. I know, that there are clear indicators, that fulfill this.

The rear indicator are easy to replace.
To be able to loose the screw on the front indicators, the glove box has to be removed (Start with piaggio emblem, remove the center cover, the glove box).

bye
