Three year extended warranty - no joy.

When we bought our GTS last year it was supposed to come with a 3-year extended warranty. The deal was special financing or the warranty. It took about 6 months to receive the warranty card in the mail and it was for 1-year (ugh). I called Vespa customer service and got someone's voice mail. They never returned my call. Has anyone else had these issues with a possible resolution. Sure would be nice to have proof of the extended warranty.

cheers, Jim

Cool, thanks. A contact would be great. They seem to be slow in responding. The extended warranty was a freebie to me so I dont think I'll see cash back. Would love to get the "gold sticker" that says you are entitled to an additional two years of coverage.

My bike came with a 3-year warranty as well, however the warranty information I received was only for one year. At the end of the first year of warranty coverage, I received a letter from Piaggio extending my warranty for two years.

Just curious, has anyone had made successful warranty claims? I have done all the service and kept records, however have not been good with sending the service schedule coupons to Piaggio. I also understand that the address for doing so on my warranty book is no longer valid.

Doesn't your sales contract say anything about your extended warranty being included?

I received the one year and then the second year cards within six months. I talked with my dealer and she said dont worry about it which claim number, we have it in the computer system.

Ive had the seat latch, and the rear drive shaft seal replaced under warranty, the dealer took care of all the paperowork.

Thanks Linda at VTO.

Your dealer should have registered the warranty, and should be able to log in and check that your VIN is listed with the other extended warranties. The sticker takes forever to come, and you will get both the blue and the gold eventually, assuming the dealer registered it correctly. You really do not need the sticker to show proof of coverage, nor do you need to send in the little slips to Piaggio every time you have your bike serviced. All record keeping is done on computers now.

I got the same promotional offer when I purchased my GT last October. I got a letter after 5 or 6 months
confirming my purchase and standard warranty and offering me the chance to purchase an extended warranty.
Since I was supposed to have that already I called customer service but only got voice mail. After a couple
of months of this, I finally left a somewhat exasperated message to the effect of "how come no one ever
answers the phone" and (surprise!) someone called me back the same day. I hadn't left my name or number
'cause I don't like phone tag so I guess they have caller ID. I asked my question, she took the VIN
number and called me back about a week later with the info that my warranty was registered until 2010
and that I would likely get a second letter confirming this -- eventually. Laughing emoticon
