Meager intellect? Why, because he's a parking enforcement officer? And who, pray tell, do you think gives a rat's ass about your blog?

This has got to be the most ridiculous thing I've ever read on MV.
i agree...I dont get where this is going or why it was posted. It doesn't sound like a vent; you sound pissed and mocked some poor guy who sounds like he hasnt had the good fortunes you have, and then you go and judge him for it.
*you were late and therefor earned a ticket.
*you threaten someone doing his job (with a blog ) and expect a different outcome
*you also make snide comments as his does his job for something that is clearly your fault?

what gives?
What are you the narrator? I said EXACTLY what you said. I paid my ticket. I hardly think that my blog is a threat, anyone with a keyboard and a third grade education has a blog, it was sarcasm.

My good fortune was not to get meth-mouth.

I'm getting sick of the redundant responses. Move along, people, move along.

Not to mention that practically everyone I have ever discussed a meeting with one of these 'snarky' so called 'servants' has said the same thing. Razz emoticon
ha ha ha
Somehow I've managed to start some sort of fight for what was intended to be a funny, sarcastic rant. It was my rant about the misfortune of not being able to tell time. I've taken a class on time telling and I have a phone with a timer on it now, I will use it for good and NOT complain about the exchange of a quarter for twenty dollars.

I wish this were like my blog, I'd just delete this entry. HFS, I'm sticking to technical questions and just reading. There have to be other forums where you don't get attacked by the relatives of parking enforcement officers.

Man - o - man, I think people lost the focus of the OP's post.

The fact that he replied he was going to "take it out" on the parking enforcement person by blogging about him was meant to be humorous.

It's not like he said, "I'll gonna get my veggie peeler and peel you, Pig."

Jesus, take it easy. He got a ticket, he paid the ticket, and he doesn't like cops who give him tickets. End of story.

Since when did MV become the place where a person mentions something bad that happened to them and the next thing you know they're being told they're a P.O.S. by everyone?

The guy's allowed to have an opinion and so are you - but don't be a douche about it. Keep it above the waist.

Thanks. It's nice to know that a few people got it. I often think that I'm being humorous when a lot of people don't get me. For that I will refrain from posting humorous posts for a while.

I'm one of the readers who thought you were serious. If you have a blog you must be savvy enough about email etc. and know your tone can be misunderstood very easily. Thats why they provide the cute emoticons for you. Just put a smiley if you are happy but using irony and it reads like you are sad. After you have posted a lot people will learn when you really mean what you say or if you are making a joke. Until then don't be surprised if the MV community takes you at face value.

Actually, no. I'll just stick to reading and technical questions. In my blog if you piss me off, I block your IP and your ability to comment, then I remove your comments. It's mine, I can do that. I am accustomed to people having their opinions, but they need to take the proverbial stick out of their butts.

I almost went to the scooter gang/club meeting thing tonight but seriously, I chickened out and it was mainly because of this thread. I am so afraid that the people there will be like the people in this thread that have pissed me off and I'm so not in a the mood to deal with it. In time the fun, cool people will seek me out and I will get to ride with someone, eventually.

I'm just not that hard core. I am not one of the people who wears gloves and a spacesuit to go riding. I wear my helmet and some sunscreen and carry 2 bottles of water in my trunk, and my lock in the pet carrier.

Seriously?

I just got a parking ticket in Hoboken, NJ. I'm not sure if everyone is familiar with Hoboken, but it has the worst parking in the world. Quite literally. There are just not enough spots, too many cars. So I went to the park to eat lunch and parked my PX on the gravel next to the bike rack, thinking why waste a car parking space with a scooter. I was there for 15 minutes and came back to see a ticket in the handlebars for "parking on the sidewalk" $54!!!! You'd think they'd be happy I wasn't monopolizing a full spot. And it wasn't even on the "sidewalk." There's just no justice!!!!!!!

Grilling and ghetto horseshoes? Now you're in trouble. I'm in a wedding in Boston Aug 30th and then I'm driving down to visit my folks in Bridgewater, CT so you should TOTALLY expect me to be there!!!

P.S. You will know I'm there when you hear the horn on my Peugeot moped. It sounds like the hounds of hell being unleased. Or a squeak toy. One of the two.

We call that "Washers" out in Colorado - and I'll have you know I've lost a fair amount of money playing them.

I just got a parking ticket in Hoboken, NJ. I'm not sure if everyone is familiar with Hoboken, but it has the worst parking in the world. Quite literally.
It can't be as bad as Sydney.

There are a few hundred motorcycle parks in the entire city, usually in obscure spots. Hunting them down is a nightmare, so you end up having to park in a normal car parking space 99% of the time. Parking anywhere other than a designated parking spot is illegal.

Most of the metered parking uses tickets, which you are supposed to put on your dashboard. That obviously doesn't work too well on a bike or scooter. The official policy to deal with this is to take your ticket with you, wait for the fine to arrive, then contest the fine by sending them a copy of the ticket and an explanatory letter. You have to do that each time you park.

Even in the case where the parking meter uses a "timed bay" system, there is trouble. Things seem fine initially... you park your scooter in your space, pay for it on the meter, then go on your way. Then another bike or two will invariably park in the spot with you. This seems sensible, until you realise that it is illegal for more than one vehicle to share a bay. So the traffic cop comes along, chooses one bike at random to be the "legally parked bike" and fines the others. You had better hope that you kept your receipt, because you will need it to contest the fine.

Parking stations aren't much use either. Most are automated, with boom gates that can't be triggered by a scooter.

It's total insanity. Much like the toll-roads, which are mostly cashless and use an "e-toll" system. Unfortunately, the e-toll tags aren't designed for bikes or scooters, making them a nightmare to fit. If you do manage to somehow fit the tag to your bike, it will be stolen the first time you park it.

I'm glad I don't have to go to Sydney too often.
