the roster so far seems to be Dessa, Jim, Wonder Machine, and possibly Satanama. unfortunately the guest of honor has had to bow out.
the event is definitely open for all London scooterists - we'd love to meet more of you!

I have just come back from the pub where there were no bikes and I didn't know what any of you looked like neither had your mobiles. tried calling genie but it went straight to her voicemail. though now just seen Jim's post and AAAAAAAAAGGGHHH I saw a Fuoco arrive just as I was leaving!! hahahahaha I thought to myself, might this be one of them? but looked sad enough holding my helmet by the door looking around to random people then decided to come home!! it's only 5 min from my house so do you know what, might head back there see if Jim is still there!! if that's him! if not, saddo me!!! haha... see you all next time then guys xx |

As I pulled into the pub I saw a red ??? leave, shouted 'Wotcha!', but he just grinned and left. There was a sweet white ET2 but by the time the fairly alert but not very clueful bar staff had got me fuelled with a full pint (watch out for short measures there) it had vanished.
No worries, I was on at minimum a scouting mission for my own benefit to find the pub again, at best just to be there should anyone turn up regardless. Met a wonderful 5-month old puppy (Jack) with his well-trained human, who turned out to confess his original ancestral home was Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire! A very civilised conversation for 45 minutes or so, then the ET2 came back - turned out to be Shirley with her human in tow! Then ensued more superb intercourse, eventually calling it a day some time after 21:00. Shirley is a lovely bike, her carer is 'top notch' as well. London over and out. |

Shirley and the Fuoco had a long conversation about "should I get myself a third wheel", Shirley wouldn't stop harrassing me on the way home for me to stop by at Rex Judd and get her a third wheel. you spoil those things now this is what you get!! Jim thanks for the chips and my trusty Guiness, had a very rough long day at work and it was very welcome... guys, Jim talked about the "urban ride" (is that right?) happening on the 17th in London from Excel to Westminster, no traffic lites, just straight plain riding through all the tourist attractions down there! are you booo hoooo party poopers going? Hey Guys I have no plans tonight or tomorrow at all, if any one wants to get together and have a pint or two, or show me some of the 'real london' now that I have walked all of westminster and old london city 2x over.
I have a cell phone I am pretty sure this is the number: +44 7920813306 or maybe it is 792 081 3306 or something like that ? Please shoot me a SMS or give me a ring, I think I am gonna head up to Camden town for a little but give me a shout, if I do not awnser I am probably in the tube and just send me an SMS as i have no clue what the voice mail passcode is on this phone's account. Cheers! |

Had I think my first international Modern Vespa Sighting
Last night when walking from Embankment to london tower, shortly after getting off the tube at embankment I saw this scooter, now In london there are scooters everywhere, I got a really funny feeling most are not on MV but I can pretty much hope this one is.

I would classify that sticker as "have the standard dent on the side of my Vespa from either tipping over or just plain accident, can't be bothered/can't afford to repair paintwork/dent, slap on a sticker that looks cool enough on, hey here's a round one that will just cover the damage"
hehehehhee I don't really know anyone with a sticker on that side there that has no dent/scratches underneath it and the mod target is really popular... I used to have the "Vespa Servizio" target sticker before I repaired my Shirley! |

Yeah this one didn't have any dents or not that I could see across the street it looked mint. Oh well I was all excited, scooter spotting is a big sport in our area
But if one tried to spot all the scoots ya see in just one walk it would be a two page post.... Don't make fun of the picture, the street was busy, it was dark, drunks were all around me, best I could do. Anyways, Here until at least the end of the week. Gonna be a busy one tomorrow at my datacenter over by liverpool but pretty much free every night this week (although some night my one co-worker owes me dinner and pints). Any good happenings this week? |

Monthly scooter meet at the Ace Cafe on Monday. I should be there from about 19:00, but not to see other scooters, just to meet mates. The evening attracts the younger chav elements who do gladiatorial battle as to who can commit hari-kari under a bus on the road outside while doing wheelies.
Wednesday is the LondonBikers meet at Borough Market. Friday some LondonBikers go for a run in the evening, route is (not) known by random number, go figure. Again from the Ace, from 19:30 onwards. Led the 'chilled' group for the Memorial Ride for the cross-forum (but London based) riders today: http://londonbikers.com/forums/Topic397359-52-1.aspx Ace cafe: http://www.ace-cafe-london.com/default.aspx Borough Market Meet: http://londonbikers.com/events/ |

I'll look out for you. |

Any other must visit places or Vespa/Lambretta shops/central areas? I have to say my day trip into Camdem town made me feel all warm inside with all the mods shirts, and vespa man-purses (yes I bought one), and other goodies about. |

my boyfriend came up with a new verb this weekend ....'manbagging' ... it's when a bloke digs frantically about in his man-bag for change/keys/condoms/gum/hair product/etc. .... now he's pointed it out i'm seeing it everywhere and falling about laughing every time i see it going on.
ah, give me the good old days when blokes just shuffled about in their pockets |
