In few weeks I will be leaving my town, on my MP3 400, for a journey of two weeks.
The motorbike will be fully packed and we'll be in two. I've estimated that the journey will be about 1000 miles.
The engine has done so far 5000 miles and has been reguraly checked by the Piaggio service. Even if the maintanance light is not flashing I would like make a check up, just to avoid to be caught out when I'll be in the middle of no where.

What do you suggest me to check? And what do you suggest me to bring in case of break down?

Thanks in advance

Fluids and tire wear. Top everything off and go. You will be ready for an oil change when you get back. Even if you go 6200 miles I wouldn't sweat it. There is a hidden reservoir under the windshield that holds DOT-4 fluid for the front suspension. Mine was low when I stumbled on it after 2500 miles. I was scouting for places to mount another horn. To access, take the windshield off and the black panel under that to get to it. Just a few screws and 10 minutes time to top it off.

Have fun on your trip.

I've just done a 3.5k mile trip and all I used was oil, so take some 4T oil and a funnel. I'm pretty sure your tyres will be fine but keep an eye on their pressures.

Check tyres and brake pads look good for at least 1000 miles, top up the oil, good to go. I always carry a spare headlight lamp and an exhaust collar with the tools to fit it at the roadside - I've been caught out several times with that!
