I have a PX150 and was wondering if anyone has devised a way to carry a fishing pole. I was thinking of getting a rear rack and somehow mounting one of those PVC pipe holders. I usually don't go more than 10-20 miles, so it doesn't have to "trip worthy." Just wondering if there's anything already out there, or how you go about carting rod(s). If anyone even fishes.

TIA for all replies.

I have put a broken down fly rod in its tube vertically between my legs with a small bungee to the hook on the front of the seat (LX150). I stop very carefully.

You can get pretty decent telescoping rods that collapse to about a foot which fits in the trunk. It's a great way to look for new fishing spots, just pull out the rod make a few casts and if nothing on to the next place.

Shakespeare makes cheap but surprisingly durable and usable telescopic rods.

I really like the sectioned rods more then the telescoping ones. They hold up better. I keep one in my truck.

I think the sectioned ones are better but also more expensive. I had a graphite gander mountain telescoping rod that cast great but snapped the first time I used it. The Shakespeare's are fiberglass which aren't as high performance as graphite but last forever and they are so quick to set up. I have had a cheap shakespeare telescoping rod for about seven years and its been through hell. Their reels on the other hand are crap.

I don't fish anymore because it is too cruel.

i have a similar problem: where to put a baguette?
Bungeeing it to the rear rack is no good, cause the baguette breaks in half.
Putting it in a bag and hanging it off the bag hook, is no good cause then you have a loaf of bread rising from between your legs, like some kind of giant floury phallus.
But i've devised a solution (though i've yet to build it).
A black leather hoslter -- like an old shotgun holster for a horse and saddle -- hanging, mouth forward, from some straps attached under the seat.
i think it would be beautiful (and the bread would be good, too).

25 years or so ago I bought a loaf of French bread at a grocery store.
The bagger looked at it a second, folded it in half and stuffed it in the bag.
I'm still laughing at that image. Laughing emoticon

The OP here is looking at PVC pipe to transport his fishing rod.
Maybe you could get the other half for your bread. Spray paint it to match the scoot and bungee it to the cowels.

I took my vegetarian girlfriend fishing yesterday which was pretty interesting. She liked paddling around but I hooked a couple bass that were jumpers and it freaked her out. I don't eat most meat anymore but I just don't feel bad about seafood especially if I catch it myself. I have to satisfy my hunter gatherer instinct someway without being unnecessarily cruel Laughing emoticon
