Modern Vespa

Hi. I have been thinking about getting a scooter for a few months and today I bit the bullet. Reading this forum over the last few days has been very helpful. I went to the local Vespa dealer planning to buy a white S150, but when I got there, they had an orange one. From all the research I had done, I didn't even know they came in orange. Most internet sites just have them listed in black, white, or red. I liked the orange one so much, I bought it on the spot...well actually, I compared it to a yellow LX150 for a while first. I am very excited, and am picking it up at the beginning of next week.

Are these orange ones rare, or did they just start making them recently?

Orange is one of the new colors for 2009...they've got one at Vespa Hartford...it's a really cool color! Congratulations!

Nice one matey, I'm sure you'll have a greta time riding around. Don't know about the orange ones being rare but it was a bloody good job the shop had one in because it goes well with your name.

Hello my name's Orange S 150 and I ride a yellow LX 150 just doesn't have the same ring to it!!!!

What can I say...my parents were cruel, but it all worked out in the end.

I am envious- the orange is stunning! You made a great choice for your first scooter-- but I warn you that now you will be spoiled for life. Congratulations!

P.S. We were told we were only getting about 38 orange babies in Canada.

I think the Orange S150 is faster then the LX150, but some may argue.

I heard each dealer only received 1 or 2 orange bikes. That makes them pretty rare. Maybe in 2009 it will become a more common color but for now, you'll have the rarest color available.

did you see the S at hartford vespa recently?

you have no idea how jealous i am of you right now... i haven't seen one in person yet, but i'm kicking myself for not getting an S......

The ornage S's get the matching orange stiching on the seats in addition to the white piping which completes the look. Great looking scooter.

congrats, I just did the same thing! Got an LX150... But almost got the orange S. They had 3 of them at Vespa Brooklyn.

Yes...as of 1pm today it was still on the showroom floor!

that may be worth a ride over. did you notice if they had a good amount of corazzo jackets?

Yes...they still had a lot on the rack and they expect more in a few days...coming from Portland, OR.

Hello there...glad you have your' new scoot. I pick up my Vespa S tomorrow although the chrome kit has not yer arrived. Is your' scoot a Limited Edition Orange Zaffarani like mine...Vespa have made 200 of them and we had 25 of them in the UK. Mine is 25/25 so let's hope that it is lucky! I've had to go to a smaller frame because the last scoot, a fantastic GTS 125 was getting too heavy for me sadly...I have bionic knees but not SO bionic when it comes to holding up my scoot at the traffic lights! I love scootering and hope that you will too...cheers Tony

Hiya there 'got mine' ....no I'm not trading up nor down...I'm trading with need in mind mate. My missis and son were after me going for a new MP3 250...I still wanted a 'conventional' scooter hence I was looking for a scoot with a sidecar. I ordered an MP3 without looking at it...what a fool..I was so fed up of being mithered by my wife after falling off my GTS at some traffic lights. Anyway I got to the shop...MOONRAKERS in Norwich..and the bossman said immediately...it's no good for you. My right knee is 'fused' and so I have NO mobility in it...it is a STRAIGHT leg. As he was talking to me I was leaning on an orange...lightweight..Vespa S...Divine Intervention or what....I pick the beauty up in two and a half hours time!!!!! Bye all!

Yeagh...got my scoot and it's lovely BUT...the shop have overdone it with their own logos and all in very inappropriate spots! The shop is called MOONRAKERS...hence it looks like the scoot is a MOONRAKER model...very takky...it's off tonight by using the missises hairdryer!!!

Picked it up today! It looks GREAT! It handles great! Having not driven a cycle in years, I was worried, but this scooter is SOOO easy to drive. I still dont plan on taking it on any major roads for a while, but I am definitely getting the hang of it. When I got it home, I couldn't stop riding until it got totally dark on my street. I literally cant wait to get home from work tomorrow so I can ride again.
