I'm currently trying to realign the steering on my ET4. I wasn't able to do it with force alone so I loosened the clamp nut, aligned the handlebars etc. The clamp nut is bothering me though, its fairly tight, certainly past finger strength, but doesn't seem to be as tight as it was. I can't tighten it any further without turning the circular nut on the other side of the fork, and I can't anchor that nut with a pliers anymore. I'm wondering if anyone knows whether the steering could potentially exert enough force to strip the screw and loosen the steering, or if will be too loose on its own, as its not tight to the extent it was before I removed it.
