Modern Vespa

Well, I've had my GTS for a month and a half now. I ride it daily, and have 1215 miles on it already, but always 10/50 mile trips. Today I got a wild hair, and did 125 miles in one stretch. Rode a bunch of "Twisties" around Friendship, IN, A long stretch of 70mph highway to Madison, IN and then up 30miles of secondary roads to home. Nary a hitch. The more I ride the goofy thing, the more I like it. The 250 will stay with traffic, and runs like the Pink Everyready bunny.

I saw your thread and feel compelled to respond because you mentioned Madison, IN. I am from Jasper, IN and went to Hanover College right next to Madison. That area of Southern Indiana is SO beautiful - I miss it so much. Now I live in flat, boring Northwest Ohio - no hills, no curves, no beautiful countryside. I envy you - that 125 miler seems awesome. Now that I just picked up my 76 Rally 200, maybe I will have to take it home to Jasper next time.

By the way, where do you live in Indiana? Brown County would be a beautiful place to ride as well.

I've been trying to get past the break-in period on my scooter. It goes in next Wednesday for service and I plan on leaving the dealer and driving straight to Brown County. FUN!
