In addition to checking out the lastest activity on this swell site, I also visit Steve Guzman's blog, The Scooter Scoop (http://thescooterscoop.blogspot.com/) and came upon this article about the vespa "lifestyle" from MacLeans, a Canadian publication (?). Anywho, here's the link if anyone's interested...

Surely this can't be the first time you've come upon a mainstream scooter article written in this style and tone. It's funny, but in "real life" I don't know anybody who fits this description. If the author ran into our Jersey Shore Scooter Club, he'd have little to report. What would he say? "These are a bunch of scooter enthusiasts, who appear to be a sampling of normal folk, from every walk of life". Yawn.

Well............That may explain why I get more nods and waves from bikers than from fellow Vespa riders around Toronto. I didn't realize I was quite that much out of touch!

No, of course it's not the first time I've personally come upon this type of "article", nor will it be the last. I'm not really surprised about it either, but at least posting the link did generate a response

Any press is good press, but you can rely on them getting it wrong. It's nice to see that the Canadians are still scooting as winter dawns. Cheers!

Stranglers?
The author has never been to a rally with the Boston Stranglers. Their favorite outift while riding: drunk and naked, except for the tatoos.

My fashion sense (or lack of it) makes it clear that I'm not part of that "culture".
