didn't go into work yesterday. Now it is just a matter of desire to drive the 40 miles one way up 95 on my scoot that has me a bit concerned. LOL

I thought that was what this game was I'm riding for fun

Oh I love riding, just have not been quite brave enough to do it on 95 during rush hour yet

Not in the DC area. On the other hand, if we were playing in Denver .... I drove a cab there for 6 years and went everywhere, urban and suburban. But here it is mostly Arlington and Alexandria, plus the places where my daughter plays soccer. Oh, and places where there is good Asian food.

Ratstar could pretty easily get this one. I thought StooterBoy was also going to try this one?

The hard part is figuring out how to get there without using the highways ... if nobody claims this one soon I will have to go get it this weekend, but then I am going to drag you all out to western Fairfax County for the next one ....

on google maps it has a prompt "avoid highways" which I take as a scooter route

That was tricky, certainly unitentional , I guess they pulled them to sell for charity. I hope. So sauter is going to stretch out the game now.

Dragon, that one was 58 miles round trip for me ... my wife got the dreaded "Rider's Butt"!

The other planes still looked to be in position ... just the Duke Ellington plane was gone, or at least moved. There are apparently 50 planes out there scattered about Crystal City ... all part of the Crystal Flight series.

Tried to get a new shot this afternoon, but the location was busy so I'll have to go back ...

Too late, Sauter, your caboose move will have to be for another tag. This is now my longest ride to date 46 miles roundtrip. Real fun though met a friend for lunch at Anita's, hadn't been there since high school

Excellent! Great job, you really get around on that LX.

The caboose is in historic downtown Herndon, VA. There is a museum nearby, also many good restaurants (Anita's is one of them). Right on the W&OD bike trail, runs out to Purcellville.

Chug mentioned and I saw the Indian Restaurant Angeethi. It looked very interesting, my wife and I may go this weekend. Sauter thanks for the motivation to ride out there it was great, a little hairy on route 7 but fun none the less. New tag coming

40 miles round trip is a bit different than 80 round trip, LOL. Anyway I am going through withdrawl right now as I have my scoot apart for some "upgrades". Will hopefully be riding again this weekend.

Starting in the 1930's there were 50 of these burger joints in the Baltimore/Washington area. The last one closed in 2006. The unique architecture of these places once rivaled the big blue roof of IHOP or the Pizza Hut red roof. Kinda like a mix of five guys and White castle. the burgers were tiny 1oz I believe, cooked hundred's at a time. The company slogan was "buy'em by the bag". Boy I wish I could. I think this was the eastern most shop

I get it ... there seems to be a theme here, we've gone from the airplane that used to be there to the restaurant that used to be there! And, all on a scooter that used to be a 50 ... !!!

I lived in Fairlington Apts fron 1965 to -70 and used to go and play at Ft. Ward all the time, I loved that place, climbing over the Berms pretending that the rebs were advancing....LOL

This used to be a Little Tavern, it's located on Washington street in Alexandria a few blocks north of King St. I drive by it all the time on my way out of Alexandria up Washington Parkway to DC.

Now it's a Asian place, this website

Sorry but all I had was my phone to take this picture.

I had to go over a small curb and park on the side walk to get this angel, but the clouds were the best on this side at the time. You might get a better/easier shot around the corner where the sign is located.

Hint: you can see it from a good distance and it's near the pentagon

As soon as I get my new camera battery, I will start up on scooter tag again.
