Here's a nice little job to do on a rainy {or windy) day.

I've had the Clauss Studio rear mount on my P2 for ages and for those of you who don't, get one, it makes an amazing difference. I've wanted to do the front for ages and the day came today.

I'm running a SIP front shock and a Bitubo on the rear. It's an easy job but thought I'd do some photos as a reference for anyone brand new to scooters.

The end result? Brilliant! For a while I've been thinking my front shock was on the way out, feeling spongy no matter how I adjusted it. Here's the cure, and for very little money. The same significant improvement as the rear mount made. Confidence inspiring, sure, road holding. I can't recommend 'em highly enough and they'll last forever.

What you get for your $10 or 5 GBP

Get that wheel off..

Detatch the shock at the top, only two nuts on captive bolts. Leave the bottom and just swing the shock down so you can work on it.

One nut, 17mm I think holds the mounting bracket and rubbers to the top of your shock, take it off and here's what you get. I've had this shock on for a year(ish) but I ride a lot, mostly every day. The rubbers though in tact were soft as shite and felt

The Clauss Studio rubbers are different to each other, (designed for standard shocks?) so a little shaping's in order to get the bigger of the two to seat nicely in the mount cup - easy done.

Reassemble the mount with your fancy new rubbers...

Swing it back up to the bolts on your fork and do it up nice and tight. Have a sip of your tea you've forgotten about and wonder what difference it'll make. Then hit the road and give it the beans...

Engine mounts? I'm thinking about them too, it'll be interesting to hear what you think of them once the trauma of getting them in is over.

Why can't manufacturers out pictures like this on their website. Now I know what the other mounts in front are for.

I never did the front mounts on my PX, but I did do the engine mounts as well as the rear shock, and what a difference. The scooter ran on rails - the wheels were exactly where I wanted them all the time, and the handling was superb. None of my other scooters has been such a pleasure to ride.
