Modern Vespa

I have always named my vehicles so when I bought my Vespa the first name that came to mind was "Bessie." After Bessie Smith the blues singer. I dunno why.

Anyone else name their scooter?

I don't make a habit of naming inanimate objects, but sometimes they name themselves.

Hey its Italian...so my GTS is named Vinnie......Vinnie Vespa. My Harley Fat Boy is named Holly. Ever since I was a kid we used to always name our family vehicles. I can always remember my Dad calling the car a name....but for some reason when the car broke down he would call it by a different name.... Duck !!...why would he say Duck ! Happy to see that the tradition of naming your vehicle is alive and well.

Not yet, but I just got her. I know something will come to mind Eddy

My husband and I also like to name inanimate objects as well. Our 2007 Kia Magentis (named the Optima in the States) ended up with the name Maggie. I just got my silver 2006 LX 50 yesterday & she's already got a name - Audrey, after Audrey Hepburn (yeah, I watched Roman Holiday recently).

Not a name as such, since I still call it "the Vespa"...

I considered "Saya" for a while, but I couldn't make it stick.

I've been sporting "Serenity" for some time now, so I guess this post makes it official. I call dibs.

Which is why I, for one, don't mind if questions come up from time to time that have come up before.

If every newer person were expected to do a thorough, exhaustive search of this forum before posting a question to make sure it was not posted before, this would not be the dynamic, interesting forum it is.

And usually, when a subject comes up again, there is often something new and fresh added each time.

And honestly, I'll probably change my choice of name for my scooter again by the time I've finished writing this anyway. I'm so darn fickle

Phoebe would be a good name because if you didn't follow instructions and put a cat in the pet carrier it could become a "Smelly Cat"

I named mine Luigi.

My friend named his scooter Dolores. I don't have one yet but ill think of something good before I do(hopefully within the next few weeks)

I have never named my scooters and I do not have any plans of starting.

I've talked about my Vespa's name before.

But I had VW Beetles when I was a young lass.

The first one was a white 69 automatic called Blinky. That was short for Treblinka (she had a bit of a gas leak).

The second one was a 68 whatever in metallic blue - So I called her Superstar Klaus Barbie.

In the name of political correctness and me not going to hell, probably best I don't start collecting German scooters.

(My Vespa is called Cicciolina and my Lambretta is called Sylvia - that one's a La Dolce Vita reference.)

I had a Volvo I named Dolores, because of the Seinfeld episode...

I haven't come up with a name yet... it will be a week on saturday since I got my vespa.

Mine is named Gertrude after the 86 year-old who knocked me off my motorcycle and into scooters. I am thinking of re-branding to 'Vanespa' though.

see below, originally I chose Betty, but The scoot seems more like a Joe, so Betty joe is a compromise, sometimes its "helloooooo Betty!"
and other times it's "Way to go Joe! " or "WTF Joe?"

My wife's GT was adopted, and came with only 242 miles on him, also came with the Name "Marcello" for Marcello Mastriani..... 8) 8)

my girlfriend gave the name to my GTS 300 Super "Miss Sixty"...
