it's 2003. I just got it, my first vespa/bike.
should be loads of fun. Been painting up the sidecar as the paint was starting to flake off. Not a very good paint job at all. The sidecar was made in India. I'll post some photos when the sidecar is done. |

Very nice, Chad! Do you have a picture of the back? I just want to see how you mounted your rear rack. Did you use the license plate holes or did you drill?

i used the license plate holes. i think they moved them on the 2008s though so that they line up. on the 2005s they were in a different place and you had to drill holes, iirc.
![]() i'm trying to find out what the holes in the rear rack stems are for. |

Yeah, I had to drill mine. You mean those tiny holes in the rack? I have no clue what they're for.

Don't do it !.. that stock white is awesome. I like the white paint, but feel
free to paint away, it's your bike. I have a red p200e. I am probably going to re-paint it red next year but I will add a subtle amount of gold flake into the paint. ![]() ⚠️ Last edited by checkflag on UTC; edited 2 times

I am probably going to re-paint red it next year but i will add a subtle amount of gold flake into the paint. I retouched the damage on the leg shield and saturated the red paint. There are also some actions used to give it an ethereal glow. Only mods are the disc brake and the front shock as of now. I have the Clauss Studio engine and rear shock mounts and a rear shock in the mail right now. Next week I am having the engine rebuilt and might add a Jim Lomas exhaust. I also have a Euro P tail light coming in the mail. Some day I will take her apart and paint her real nice, but its not in the budget right now. |

'78 P
Here's my '78 P200E. I am the third owner, I purchased it from a very nice retired gentleman. It has 8400 miles on it. Everything is stock. I had a bunch of stuff removed (back rest, windscreen, stickers) and like how it looks now. I took it out of state to a rally, hence the trailer.

Like I said - silver and awesome.
I think the best new feature is the replacement of the crappy aluminum strips with mirror polished stainless - I think it looks cool, Lotus agrees - she loves to sit in the sidecar. ![]()
