What the heck....why not share our gloves of choice too? Mine just happen to have lace at the top, What The? emoticon but It's ALL INSIDE (a JCPenney jingle...remember?)
All kidding aside and nearby,
Do you prefer nylon, leather, mesh, a combo of both....to the wrist...or higher (inside jacket sleeve/over sleeve)? and what color(s)? Must YOU match everything you're wearing via manufacturer? i.e. Icon everything: (gloves, jacket, pants, helmet, boots, etc)....or just color coordinate your attire? Or don't you give a _____(poop) and just buy the best buy!
Inquiring minds want to know.....please share and let us know Eyelashes emoticon

Though I would love to match everything in a tone of blue to match the Smrfmobile I go with function over fashion so my jacket is hi viz green with reflective tape sewn in the back of the jacket and sleeves. I'm still working on the glove issue since I have very small hands for an adult I can't find riding gloves yet so I use bicycle gloves. The gloves I'm looking at (near $200 but can get them custom finger length) will be made of deerskin not cow leather and only come in one color.

I bought the black and silver, Alpinestars.com SP-X Sport Riding Gloves.
These offer the most protection. Cost $89.95 +tax. I don't wear them, because they're uncomfortment. Too much for me...but I'm stuck with them.

The Alpinestars.com blue and white are all leather and have far less protection. They are not vented and are extremely comfortable. I will wear them with my matching sky blue Corazzo 5.0 jacket this fall and winter.

The Joe Rocket black and yellow leather and mesh combo gloves are extremely comfortable. They offer a compromise in protection between the two Alpinestar gloves. I love these gloves, they are vented. They have nail, finger knuckle and hand knuckle padded protection. Leather reinforced palms and a gritted patch for skid bracing. Great fit.
I wear them with my summer First Gear mesh jacket which is yellow and silver.

My hands are a size 7 and I wear Small in these gloves. I go for protection, comfort, fashion and cost. These are alot of choices. So whatever color you color you can shop for stuff to match...

Smfr...check out young male sizes....there are lots of choices at larger stores....even Walmart has a motorcycle department....but the best choices are in the different sports departments...every department has some kind of glove in young male sizes....

Some times I can get good quality boots and hiking shoes for a far less price when I shop in young male section, instead of the expensive womens section.

For what it's worth..just a thought....cheers....jacq

I already do shop in young men's section but thank you for the suggestion. I currently am wearing gloves for boys' youth but they're bicycling gloves not motorcycle gloves.

I didn't know about Walmart having a motorcycle section, I'll check that out next time I pop in, thanks!

But, I only have 2 hands!
Thanks for the pics Jacq, you have a nice array of gloves! Really like those SAFE looking Joe Rocket ones that you love.
There are soooo many gloves to choose from (especially on the internet). I know leather is the safest and mesh coolest and a combo of both divine along with some hand gel & bone protection. I spend 1/2 the year in very hot/humid weather and mesh is always dangling in front of me like a lollipop....so I switch between a light weight leather, a pair of airy workgloves from home depot and a pair of mid weight leather from Walmart (by Bell, I believe). Really, really want to buy one great pair and do not want to feel finger seams. I find suade on the palm causes me to feel uncomfortable with my grip....I like free-er hand movement on the throttle (hope that made sense).
Then there's the situation of glove under jacket cuff, or to the wrist. Velcro on a jacket cuff seems to bind with velcro on a glove....I find that distracting and uncomfie. Maybe I'm just too new a rider and these trite boog-a-boos are of no issue for others with experience. Amazing how this one necessary riding item can be so difficult to buy. No wonder we all have 3 or more pairs! Wha? emoticon
Okay, those of you out there (& we know you're there), with MANY pairs....fess up now! Here's your opportunity to share your experiences with all of em! Maybe you wanna share? Stubborn emoticon

comfort and safety in gloves
Sky...The Joe Rocket pair I got has all the benefits the other two don't have. I am confident that if I, God forbid, hit and skid, these gloves will save my hands....That is the extreme experience for the glove. The question that I answered is which glove is the coolest to wear in this 104 degree Texas heat and which glove will not distract me while I'm riding.
Granted a glove is a glove and there are innate restrictions, but how much is tolerable....I am not tolerant in anyway with the gear...The gear has to fit me... The Joe Rocket fit the bill for me in regards to safety and comfort...As far as the velcro at the sleeves, I tighten the gloves comfortably around my wrist. I leave the sleeve velcro as far open as possible and I do not feel any distraction.

I went to about 9 stores and shopped....I'm blessed to live in a town which offers so much and I don't have to drive along way to find stuff...The flip side is that all my scooter riding is in traffic...that's a bummer.

Try to get to the biggest motorcycle store you can find to try on different kinds....

Hope this helps.....cheers.....jacq

Sadly not everyone lives AGATTT even though I don't have true motorcycle gloves (yet) I figure the youth bicycle ones are better than nothing and GOD with the trike kit on the Smrfmobile...I hope to never employ my safety gear.

I guess the other ladies here haven't researched how much damage could be done to your hands when they grind the ground!! ACK!
