Couple of questions.

What have you all found to be the best overall shock setting
for the GTS/GTV?

Dealer said I got an 09 model, and registerd it as such.
Took notice after I got it home the vin. plate on the
Vespa says 07/08 as the manufacture date.
Whats up with that?

Also the worst part of the whole thing, after trailering it all the
way home, I realized the dealer never put a state inspection
sticker on it.

O well it's a trip back to the dealer.

What color did you get?

I am a large guy and I like the 2nd click on the shock setting when it is just me.

As for the manufacture date they are already producing the 09 models now so the manufacture date is correct.

Maybe I'm being stupid, but wouldn't it have to be manufactured in 08, even if it was an 09? That's how they do cars.

Or are you saying that the VIN number says it IS an 08?

VIN plates give the year of manufacture, not the model year.

On my scooters, the seventh digit on the VIN Plate tells you the model year. I received this info from the dealer where we bought both scooters. I just went to the garage and verified this by looking at my 2008 and 2009 model GTS'.

The actual Month & Date of manufacture is stamped at the upper right hand side of the VIN plate on both of my scooters.

I don't know if this is different with models manufactured before 2008 but both of mine read the same way.

Congrats! Welcome to the GTV club. I am not a big guy (155lbs) and to me it rides great on 3. I like it stiff! That came out wrong... Anyway it's not hard to try all 3 settings and judge for yourself.

If your dealer is like mine, they give you a check for the inspection amount because that is part of the purchase price, and you get it done yourself. I don't know if others do it this way or not.

I recently put my GTS on seting #3 and it rides A WHOLE LOT BETTER. But i am a fat ass too. And don't worry about manufacture date that is just for records, not year model. I think anybody has one they may remember in February 2006 Toyota released the 2007 redesigned Camry. My dad bought an 06 in March because they knocked the "old" 2006 Camry price down.

Got the Porta-something geen.
Also got the matching top case, and tall wind sheild.

I decided to put shocks at the third setting.
I always rode my Harley on the stiff side.

Last evening I started the process of installing a
12V accessory / battery tender socket.
I will post pictures upon completion.

Dang, did I say that? Dyslexia kicks in again! You are correct, the VIN gives the model year.

Was that the Porta-Potty green?
