Hey all....700 miles in Chicago and counting....I'm hoping there's no winter this year so i can ride year round...
IL does not have a helmet law and when I'm riding around the neighboorhood, I usually just wear some sunglasses. I KNOW I should always wear a helmet, and taken the MSF class, but that's not my question
I've been struggling with my regular sunglasses because the wind comes right into my eyes....anyone have any suggestions for some good cool looking bike glasses?
Thanks
Scooter72 you have the right to do what you want within the laws of your location. Pleae make sure you fully understand the risks in making your personal decision. I have a brother in law who as a tean not wearing a helmet had a low speed bicycle crash. He is approaching 40 with the mental capacity of an 8 year old and with poor motor skills from the injury cannot even ride a bike again. I went down in a parking lot when someone pulled out in front of me. Slow speeds in the neighborhood do not eliminate all accident potentials.
This accident hit close to my home this past Wednesday:
Motorcyclist critically hurt in Baldwin County accident

A 46-year-old Eatonton man was critically hurt in an accident this morning at 6:30 a.m. on U.S. 441 in Baldwin County.
While investigators originally though the man was dead at the scene, emergency crews were able to revive him and take him to The Medical Center of Central Georgia where he is in critical condition, said a Georgia State Patrol operator at the Milledgeville post.
The motorcycle collided with a BMW in front of Scoggins Grocery less than a mile from Lake Sinclair.
A friend at work was on the scene just after it happened. The ridder was on a Harley and hit a BMW. He was wearing the skull cap type helmet popular among some Harley riders. He pretty much tore his face off. He is still in ICU and may not come out alive. A blog on the internet from family and friends will tear your heart out. He has not regained conciousness and may never know what hit him, but many others are in serious emotional pain.
Again It is not my intent to argue personal decisions on what protective gear to wear only to ask that the decision is done with full understanding of the risk both personally and to those who care about you.
