Modern Vespa

Baxter had soo much energy this morning so I thought I'd take him on a bike ride and...after deciding to run in front of the tire, his foot was ran over. The little guy was a bloody mess and now after three different pain pills, will probably sleep all day.

Lesson learned, take your dog for a Vespa ride and don't make him run next peddle bike.

True lesson.
Teach your dog to pedal the bike and you run next to him.

Hope he gets up and running soon...

Oh man, poor little guy! I know that when my girl was fixed earlier this year she hated the cone action during her short recovery period.

Very cute dog but quite sad looking but he'll bounce back.

We had to put our last Boston down in August. Last night was welcomed a new one into our home. I don't think she'll be going on any vespa rides though.

Thank you for all the kind replies. He HATES the cone. He says, "Look how cute I am without it."

He is adorable. I watch the Dog Whisperer and he often advocates "biking" your dog rather than walking him. I never understood that because they could easily get hurt. I'm glad your little guy is okay- and hope he's back to normal soon!

Poor baby. My boston loves to ride in the car. Gets upset when she seems me grab my helmet cus she knows she's not going.

If you are interested and after he heals -they actually make contraptions for dogs to run with bikes which keep them from running under the wheels. I tried it and my dogs did not like it so I just rollerblade with them. It is sad and funny to see them manuever in cones.

I used to see a guy "bike" his basset hound everyday in the middle of the street. Poor thing could never keep up, and he was really putting it in danger by riding in traffic. I'm telepathically beaming this thread to him as a wake up call.

Ahhhhh! So cute! So when these little guys are puppies (8 weeks or so), they pretty much need round the clock care for at least a few weeks, right? I'm dying to get one, but my boyfriend and I both work 9 to 5, so I'm guessing it's not feasible, especially since I already have a cat.

not sure, i didn't get my boston until he was 9 months old. he was locked in a kennel with a really aggressive german shepherd and when we brought him home he hid under the coffee table for about a week and would only come out to eat.

once he realized that we're the type of family to spoil a dog rotten, well that's when his personality kicked in.

Yep, I love BT's! Grew up with em. Now we have Chihuahua's. But one day if I find a rescue BT I'll adopt one.

Baxter is healing along just fantastic, the doc says plastic surgery is no longer needed. He still greets me at the top of the stairs when I come home but you can see in the picture, he has a little snare to him like "I still love you but why did you run me over?"

Glad to hear he's doing well! But he's certainly giving you that narrow-eyed suspicious look!

Nice pic Quip - you know I am corrected by my family (who is English) everytime I say Norwich Terrier - it is pronounced Nor'ich - my arse!

Around here we call them Nor'ich - like "Gren'ich" for Greenwich, as we try to explain it to "civilians" - unless the person who asked "do you know what kind of dog that is" starts to stumble all over the place trying to make sense of the word, in which case it's Plan B: over enunciate.

I did have someone ask me one time - as I was coming out of a dog show with Ripley's grandmother, who had just won Best of Winners - if she was a poodle.
