I was just wondering, do you have any type of mod that will give you some sort of reverse besides back peddling with your feet ?

Park on an incline . Other than that, the 'mod' for this would be waaay more than a mod...it would involve messing with the transmission, drive, etc....

I understand from threads here the new hybrid Mp3 has electric reverse - ? You would have to mod yourself into a new rig altogether...

Givi E21 sidecase mount UPDATE
It appears that if you hit a bump hard enough, part of the left-side bracket will come in contact with the air filter housing:

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

This actually broke my housing, which I glued back together. Ordered a new one before I realized why it had broken. Just noticed the indentation in the housing yesterday. The glue job is holding up so far. If it breaks again, I'll modify the new part to make room for the bracket.

edit20090830: Ground down the bracket a bit with a rotary stone. Keeping an eye on it.

Is that the forward bracket on the left side??

I couldn't figure out how to get to the bolt to attach the forward bolts, so mine aren't attached!

I was looking on the Tow Pac website, and they now offer an electric reverse for the kit, which replaces the left axle

Yes, but unfortunately only for the 12" wheel kit at this time. They are seeing how popular it is if they'll make one available for the smaller 8" kits or not.

Re: Givi E21 sidecase mount UPDATE
See my update of 02/05/11 that it is not the rack's fault but whom you bought it from mis-sold the rack to you. The rack you have is made for a 125 or 250cc MP3. The factory makes a different item # for 400cc model.

Smrf's findings, as reported here:
smrf wrote:
Even though the side case racks are listed for the 250 and 400 on twisted throttles website, the FACTORY website http://fehling.de lists different item #'s for different cc and model years of the MP3 for compatibility issues. Per the PDF link on twisted throttle of the install instructions they are selling model #7268 which is for the 125 and 250. The 400 is model #7274 SO, anyone buying from twisted throttle and has a 400 they would be getting the wrong racks and that explains why the air filter housing and rack have issues. It is not the racks fault but the mis-labelling by twisted throttle.

I suggest you check some of those links especially the manufacturer and see if they make them for the X9. It couldn't hurt, or call one of the US distributors and see if they'll research it for you.

They don't show a mount for an X9

http://www.fehling.de/index.php?content=preise&markenid=9&lang=eng

Although they show the 400 with the 250 and 125. Note the 400 LT has a different part number yet the only difference on the LT is front wheel spacing. So the 400LT side mount would be the one to get to clear the air filter.
