so ... after reading about it here, i've decided to power up "scooty puff junior" with the 70cc kit. i wouldn't dream of doing this myself so i got in touch with my local shop. they said: "the parts are Malossi, and the service comes with a camshaft, piston, new head, and jets."

should that just about do it? what about a performance camshaft or the multi-var kit? necessary? should i ask for more specifics on this major surgery?

thanks!

If you do a search you'll find a lot of information, (LX50 kittiing, LX50 Malossi, etc.) but these threads seem pretty close to what you're thinking about:

Kitting an LX50
LX-50 kitted - Malossi LX-78- It Blew! - Back on the Road

Consider carefully if this is your best option- you may find that you want even more performance in a few months; and the money you spent kitting your LX50 will be wasted.

Good luck with it!

Harvey

just about a grand including parts and labor.

@ Harvey: the lx150 is waaay more than i need (and a little scary ) and out of my budget for the foreseeable future. this kit will allow me a bit more range in the city and more jump off the line and up hills.

Fair enough!

Again, good luck with your mods.
