Modern Vespa

No birds, or mice in my engine, but the past few days after a descent ride, when I come to an idle, i can hear a faint chirp sound...it is similar to a car who's alternator belt is going bad? It's not a constant wine but more like intermittent (every 2 seconds or so) It's really faint but it's there. It's not a patterned sound. I don't know if this is a bearing but it reminds me of a bearing that is going bad. I don't know if it's something that needs to be greased, or something caused by vibrations. or a belt. I don't feel any slippage. It goes away when the throttle is applied, but returns only at idle. Any ideas? I have 38xx miles.

you can pull the cover off and inspect the belt for any abnormalies. takes about 10 min

just might have some excessive dirt in there that needs to be cleaned out

I bet the clutch could do with a good clean.

Ok, how do you clean the clutch?

take the side cover off and use some brake cleaner spray and just spray/blow it out. kinda like clening brakes. you'll see once the cover is off
