The weekend is coming. Who will ride to their Green Market and get this tag?

I think we're going to have to depend on the Southerners and the Westerners for this one.
The only thing they could sell at an outdoor green market here is frozen vegetables.

yea, good one in July. I'll be sure to post a snowman tag in May to stall the game again.

It's a good tag. As for me, I'm not complaining.

If every tag we posted was of something that was common in all parts of the country at all times, what would be the challenge? I don't judge the value of a tag based on whether or not, I personally, can easily participate.
Some I can get, others, no.
(OK, I stretched things a bit with the Land Shark tag, I'll admit. )

It's been below freezing for the best part of a month here. Between 10 to 20 degrees below average for December with no signs of abating. Believe me you, I do not mind waiting a bit to see some green.

thats a negative, since I ride year round, no car. Just no outdoor markets going on in the Washington area, or most of the nation for that matter. I like a challenge, but something we can all, or most of us can partake in. Whenever a new tag is posted, I'm quickly thinking of places I can post up that day, many times being beat to the punch before I can get home to upload the photo. I could easily post a tag in front of the White House, but that wouldn't be very fair for almost everyone playing.

I would imagine that every region has something so unique that nobody else, or relatively few, could tag the same subject. Isn't variation part of this version of scooter tag? i.e. if one were to post the White House, a picture of any state capitol might suffice?

Covered bridges may be over every river and stream in the East, but are pretty hard to find on the left coast. Sand dunes are pretty easy for us to find out here in the desert, but are a little harder in the Northwest. I didn't think we were trying to make it too dificult for others to play, just encouraging/forcing them to get out and scoot somewhere.

I would also imagine that very few tags could be posted that Someone couldn't go get. Maybe not all of us would be able to because of our regional limitations, but someone could get the tag and keep the game moving.

Ah, but there are year round Green Markets in the DC area. I was very cold and scooterless, but I was at the Dupont Circle Market in mid December 2008.

I found Green Markets that are open ALL year, even in Chicago. They are out there. Most are open air, but some go indoors for the winter.

I am off this week. Maybe I'll go look for one. I know of two yesterday morning, but I was busy.

My apologies. The usual farmers markets in Alexandria and Arlington began disappearing for the season, but I can try for Eastern Market. Unless someone else posts up before hand.

Now, there are 37 Ikeas in the US, I hope this tag doesn't alienate those who don't live near any of the locations. I guess if this is un-tagged in a few days, we can accept any yellow vw bug with furniture and/or boxes on top!

I'm going to bet you lunch that there is only ONE of those Yellow Bugs parked out in front of an IKEA......(note the license plate)... I will go to my local Ikea on Wednesdsay (my day off).
I'll tag the Ikea, if there isn't a yellow Bug there... hopefully that will be good enough. (if there is, I will drive to SD and buy you lunch!)

I seriously doubt that many people will find a Yellow Bug, let alone one with furnature or boxes stacked on top.

If a shot of an Ikea isn't going to be good enough, then let me know....

while the idea is fun and would be interesting to see if anyone could even find a bug w furniture or boxes, this time of year that tag would stay for quite awhile....spring-summer maybe someone could find something. For now at least Robyn ventured out to Ikea to try and find it so I think she should get some credit for that.....
