A grotto.

This was as close as I was able to get. It's not open to the public.
Not to mention that it would be a bit of a task getting my scooter up those steps anyway.

I thought it would be an interesting tag, but I don't know how rare or common these things are. Not wanting to stall the game, I'm going to be very liberal in what counts as a grotto. A religious devotional site (as this one is), a natural site, a man-made garden feature, anything that resembles a cave (my office/den , for example, would be quite convincing), whatever. Be as inventive or amusing as you like.

If I"m not totally mistaken, that's the south "fork" of Deer Creek Reservoir, looking north-by-northwest (I recognized the hill/peninsula). It did take me a few minutes with Google Maps to recall the name though (got it confused with Strawberry for some reason).

I was near Ogden, so I did most of my recreational riding east and north of there.

Very impressive, your knowledge and memory of this beautiful land. You are right on, it is Deer Creek Reservoir, at a low water level. Soon it will all be covered by snow and look like this:

I hope the weather stays decent for riding up there a bit longer. There were almost always one or two days a month, even in midwinter, where it was above freezing and the roads were clear. My Burgman's rear shocks still have the "scars" (rust stains) from the residual road salt from those winter rides, though... The 150S never made it that far north (it was at my then-fiancee / now-wife's place in Las Vegas from '09 to early this year) and was spared the ravages of saltwater road spray.

The Palos Verdes peninsula and the mountains surrounding the L.A. basin are great, but I miss the Wasatch Front every once in a while. Thank you for the memories!

Do I need to change the current tag I can't believe that no one on MV ever rides a friend's scooter.
