Modern Vespa

That would be stretching it...... looks a little like a 90's front end of a pick up? And I was kind of thinkin a little more rust??? What say my fellow taggers? Older and a bit more rust OR let her have this one?

I rescind the submission...it WAS stretching it. No point in going back if you mean ANTIQUE cars even though they were at least 30-40 yrs old.

(of course I thought the rainbow submission was stretching it since many parts of the country are in active/rainy season but more than one person felt it was fine)

I see your point, but catching a rainbow with your scoot on print would be hard enough, but a double! Even harder! I thought antique rust buckets would be scattered all over the U.S. and something a little more attainable. Also looking for more rust than paint. Sorry.8)

I would say that is an even BIGGER stretch. I also thought the chalk rainbows didn't fly. If given a little time, I am sure someone could have gotten their scooter with one rainbow. Give the TAGS a little time, then if no one gets them ...creativity can kick in.

Busy this weekend, Sorry. Yeah, this is still a stretch. Something OLD and RUSTY was the idea. I'd only accept something like that after givin people a chance to scoot around a bit to see what they can find that's a little more like the cars I posted.

I thought the chalk rainbows were creative.

They WERE creative but that's not the point. The fact that the rainbow tag was only up 10 hours was the main issue. We SHOULD allow some time to find the shot before giving up or applying creative solutions.

Which brings me to my question: Should there be an alotted time period before the person tagged posts another picture?

I'm just chiming in because my leg is in an immobilizer and don't have anything else to do right now. So everyone, you don't have to listen to a word I say (type.) No one else I know does.

To me the fun of Nationwide Scooter Tag is just because it gets us on the road with a lighthearted purpose.

I've posted tags that were followed up in what seemed like minutes. No problem. It got the ball rolling and we got to go out and look for the next challenge.

I figger we have two extremes: Too mundane as in a picture of your scoot next to a stop sign which would be boring and uninteresting, and absurdly difficult as in a picture of you scooter during a total eclipse of the sun, which is technically possible but would bog down the game and eliminate participation for many people who didn't live where a total eclipse was on the schedule. People would stop playing, I believe.

The last example, the eclipse, was not a tag of a place or thing, but of a rare event. It's not something you can get on your scoot and try to find. Rather, it's something that you may or may not have the luck to be in the right place or time (on your scooter and with a camera, no less) to get a picture of.

The "creative" solutions seem to crop up as a response to tags that approach the second extreme. I think it will all work out just fine as long as we remember that...no extra rules needed. I like a tag that I can have fun hunting down while on the road. 8)

Didn't think finding OLD (sorry for not clarifying but I meant like PRE 50's, anyways...) rusted cars would be so hard. They are all over here if you ride the right roads.

Do tell how you mounted that GPS.

The Magellan Roadmate came with a plastic disc for mounting on a dashboard. I simply mounted it on the scoot and the GPS holder has a suction cup lever that adheres to the disc. I can take it on and off with ease and place it in the pet carrier when I park it. The battery life lasts at least 2 1/2 hours and then some. Great addition! I like it! 8)

You got it! Ice Cream on the sign, close as you can get! 8) Nothing wrong with burgers and dogs especially if there's ice cream for dessert!

Yippee!! Will get something up tomorrow.
BTW, I'd love to see a photo of Gunthers at night--the neon sign must look really cool as the ice cream scoop is flying through the air!

Next time I'm out @ night w the camera I'll see what my photogrphy skills can come with. Not sure if I can capture it but I'll try. 8)

how about your scooter with ANY kind of work crew (construction, lawn, etc). If no one posts anything I'll put something else up.

Does the crew have to be there? Because there's a lot of construction equipment around my house, but I never see anyone using it:

Wow I don't know of any in Austin. I'll have to think about that some. I know Sic has access to one.

Carnivals and fairs are good places to look. I see one all the time in downtown Delray Beach but since Florida is in the off-season, I doubt I'll come across any. I've got my eye out, though.

If no one gets one by this weekend, I'll see what I can do....... 8)

The one in my picture is actually part of a local miniature golf complex. You know, one of those places that has minigolf and battings cages and so on.
