I think the Vespa Sof Touch helmets do look a bit cool...
But why would anyone want to spend $300 for one?

And what would one use for eye protection with such a lid? Sun glasses? 8)

I dunno I liked how it matched my gts and corazzo speedway jacket. Sometimes money is not an issue.

Good point! Laughing emoticon

My question is why would someone pay that much for a helmet that doesn't keep bugs out of your teeth?

Have you priced a Davida helmet? Imagine a cereal bowl with leather chin straps priced north of $300. Not even DOT certified, but they are oh-so-pretty!

They are sweet but tend to bring out the FF police...

I used that Subway website offer and got a Vespa helmet for free. I already had a helmet but the free Vespa helmet became my wife's helmet.

Would I pay $300 for one? NO WAY!

Didn't spend $300. Dealer gave to me free when I bought the LX150. Birdz Ravens goggles in the pic, but more usually sunglasses.

I have the same helmet as "danny*h". I think they're really cool and retro looking. Yes, I get bugs in my face in the evening (I *do* wear either sunglasses, or clear nonprescription glasses) when riding. Presently, my riding is strictly in town, and not on the freeways (it IS only an LX, after all). I'm planning to get a full-face helmet prior to winter here, and then I'll have that for any future highway rides . . . but I'll continue to use the Vespa helmet in town.

Yes, you definitely need some kind of protection against the bugs. I had one hit my sunglasses lens at about 50mph last night. I sure was glad I had them on. I will be looking for a full-face or modular tomorrow when I am in a larger town. We don't have anything like that in our small town (Brownwood). I, too, want it for when I ride out of town, but also for the cool mornings that will be coming up all too soon. (Yes, we do have cold mornings sometimes in central Texas )

p.s. to steve: did you buy from Fred at Austin Vespa? I bought from him in San Antonio. I visited his new store a few weeks ago, but he wasn't in.
