Modern Vespa

My MP3 400 with 1400 miles has been perfect until today. Today while at idle the engine simply stopped. I restarted and it was fine. There was no warning nor any other indication.

Right now I am chalking it up to a fluke since it has never occurred before, but has anyone else had a problem like this? I hate the idea that this could be the start of other issues.

Am I worrying needlessly?

I have had this problem from the start on my 07 250. It was in the shop for 2 months this spring. They said they and Piaggio both didn't know what was wrong. Mine does fine after it has been driven a few miles. Hopefully your's will not be a problem like mine. Mine has started stalling at red lights and does not start back up for several minutes. Mel

Shawn had his die a couple of times while riding. I had my 500 die one tome at a light, restarted fine. Couple miles down the road it stalled, I pulled into a parking lot and it restarted. Been ok ever since. Scary but I think it's an every now and then sort of thing..

This happens to me when I don't warm up the engine in the morning.

Valve clearances? ECU mapping needs a reset?

As I've just been reminded by PM, do check both spark plugs are properly connected - this can make quite some difference both to idling and general performance.
