Just in case this JACKASS tried to delete his posting on Craigslist, I have copied his ad here below. I wish he could have at least taken better pics!

UP for sale is an adorable two seater Vespa scooter. Scooter was redone 5 years ago, including new paint and an electric start....it has been sitting in my living room for the last two years, b/c we have to many other toys in our garage....Back has a small rack for luggage etc. It is a must see,
Please understand that we had this shipped from overseas and needs to be registered in the U.S. this is pretty easy, but we just never did it. But you will recieve all the necessary paperwork....also it has not been turned on it two years so it does need some TLC....
email me with any questions, serious inquires only.........NO SCAMMERS...NO SHIPPING

If the OP isn't selling this, I don't think it goes in the For Sale section. Is it being sold, or are we just passing judgement on it for amusement?

You already know what i'm going to say about it

There's literally dozens of these things on craigslist across the country each day... you could have a whole forum dedicated to just posting them up.

In no Eric so I could be wrong but based on the paint job, centerstand, floormat, and cowl trim I'd say it's a VietBodge.

The spare tire, rack and seat might make it bodgy too, but again, my knowledge is limited to what I've learned here from Eric....

I think that since the seller put "it was shipped from overseas" is a good indicator that it was in fact shipped from overseas.

$5400...not even in pesos.

Someone should do a "viet scoot of the day" or "bodge of the day" blog....

kinda like www.failblog.org or www.cuteoverload.com

just a "new shitty bike - EVERYDAY!" kinda thing.

Unfortunatley there are a ton of these on the Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego Craigslist.

I just love how they put "NO SCAMMERS"

A friend bought this, knowing it was a vietscam bike, just to see for himself
(he paid $300 i think...which was $295 too much)

This reminded me about what my surgeon said after he heard me explain my injuries were scooter related. He said he always wanted a scooter and saw some nice ones on ebay from Vietnam.

I can sleep in peace knowing my accident served a greater purpose.

amazing. It took me a minute to even figure out what i was looking at... but that's pretty serious damage ( whether it's straight up rusting / rotting, or bad / shoddy welding ) to the centerchannel ...which is where the bike gets most of it's structural integrity and support from.

If I kicked the headset on that bike, the frame would fold in half
He sitll has to get the paint/bondo off the back end to see whats under there......then there's the motor
If I had that bike, I would weld in a frame suport between the seat and headset, strip all the paint, get some yellow stand boots and ride it with pride to every rally.

This is on my list of things to add to Two Wheel Junction - Daily Buyer Beware, where we pull listings from each day to see what really crappy deals are out there each day.

I was thinking more along the lines of Swiss cheese on top of a tuna melt.

Note the strong similarities:
