I remember reading awhile back about not being the first one thru a green light and I've taken that to heart.

While riding back from lunch today I was a quarter block from the intersection and the light was already green. I slowed down to check the traffic just as a cell phoner blasted through the intersection on the red.

Scary! But glad to hear that the tip came in handy.

Indeed.........intersections are the most dangerous for us.

Good on you for checking... It's amazing, and quite scary really, how one simple act like remembering a post you read about red-light-runners might have made the difference between you posting here and now, and you in the ICU.

Even in my job (LE Officer) I learned to slow down or even stop at green lights when going to an emergency call. City traffic lights are dangerous. I am glad that instinct helped you.

Cell phone drivers are the new drunk drivers. How long before we cease to tolerate them? Oh, and by the way, I finally got my first cell phone, it was a gift. R

I was just thinking about how frustrating cell phone drivers are.

I live in a town where ...I would say... every 10th vehicle on the road is a motorcycle or scooter.... I see many hundreds of people on scooters daily... and not only am I the only one I ever see wearing a helmet (not that you need to wear a helmet by any means, but I always feel funny being the only one) but so many people are scooting while on their phone! WTF?!

Unbelievable. They deserve every ounce of what's coming to them. Their families, on the other hand, do not... I feel sorry for those who'll inevitably be left behind, heartbroken over a single person's idiocy.

Great reminder! This was stressed at the MSF course and it is all too true.
