I don't get it. Honda has had a wesbite for many years. Websites are nothing new to big corporations trying to sell their product.

If she means the new Insight, it's pretty cool. Comparable fuel economy to a Prius but at a better price. Not nearly as cool as a Chevy Volt or a Tesla Roadster. Personally, I'm waiting on the series hybrid Wrangler Unlimited..

Yeah. At least you can tow a Vespa behind a jeep.

The pork added to the bail out bill wasn't ALL bad. There is a provision for a big tax break for people who buy the Chevy Volt and other electric cars. The savings on the volt are $7500.00.

Not chump change.

Except that the Volt will cost approximately $40,000.

That honda looks like a prius that crashed into an LED factory. Must be made in south central LA.

I don't own a car and when people hint to me I should get one - I reply by stating I won't get one until I can get something with better mileage than my beloved GTS... I'm really disappointed that the new insight won't work in a battery only mode. The original model could kick it's butt... of course many buyers are more concerned with looks than efficiency. But I like how it looked... because i'm a huge nerd! But hey, if looks get the ball rolling for people to start buying into fuel efficient cars... it's a good start.

I have the civic hybrid and have reached 119 mpg on my work commute route. It is all in the way you drive them. even though they do not run in electric only mode - they do go into ev glide which cuts off the gas and does an electric propel which takes your mpgs way up. It is great on rainy days and winter when the scooters stay home.

Really? Wow! I am impressed! I didn't know they could be coaxed into being that fuel stingy.

They can be very stingy...as long as you dont mind driving everywhere at 25mph.

Of course, that tax write-off also means that the dealers will be gouging on the sales price. Look for DRF (dealer retirement fund) add-ons on the Volt.

I thought about this bike. It's way overpriced for what it is. You get all of that plus so much more with the 09 Aprilia Mana. This bike even has different settings for rain, sport, and touring. And for a lot less money.

Doesn't matter much what the rebate is as long as you can't buy one anyway. It's like the joke about the store that didn't have as good a sale price as the place across the street. "I'd sell them cheaper too if I didn't have any."

And it only goes 40 miles on one charge. Unless you live in a large city (most Americans don't) that car won't meet the daily driving needs of someone who commutes more than 21 miles one way to work each day.

Um.. That's why it's a series hybrid!! The first 40 miles after a charge use no gasoline at all. After that, the gasoline engine kicks in to supply the electricity. It gets no less than 40 mpg even if you never plug it in and just keep adding gas. If you do 60 miles in a day, (or actually, between charges, since you could effectively charge it while at work) you average over 100 mpg. Fuel efficiency, of course, goes down the more you drive it between charges, as with any PHEV, but the cost of grid electricity with the same power as a gallon of gas costs something like 40 cents.

To get the maximum efficiency out of a honda hybrid - travelling below 35 allows you to enter the EV glide - sure you drive slower but it saves a ton of gas and pollution. I highly recommend them - and Vespas of course.
