The MP3 handlebar switches are about as weatherproof as a submerged submarine with screendoors! The switches cannot be completely waterproofed but you can minimize water/moisture intrusion by siliconing the forward-facing seam. If you're riding in a downpour at 80 mph this will help tremendously. Also, drill a couple of pinholes in the bottom of the casing. Gravity is a great protector!
