The cover protecting/covering the radiator fill cap is not gasketed. There is no place for water leaking in to the recessed area in the dash to escape. Drill a tiny hole in the lower right-hand corner of the recessed area so moisture/water can escape.

ps

I'm not trying to be a "know-it-all". I was the "Product Validation Specialist" at Yamaha Motor Corporation, Cypress, CA in 1980. One of my job functions was to critique motorcycles being released to the American market.

No need to defend - good ideas. I'm more than a little surprised at Piaggio's cavalier attitude towards protection from the elements. They must be making a mint off these bikes because there is an absolute minimum of weatherproofing. I've made a promise to myself by the time winter hits I want to tape up all the electrical connections I can get to without total bike disassembly. These ideas on drain holes and whatnot are welcomed.

Just washing my bike causes the turn signal indicator lights to flash. It has to completely dry out before it stops mis-firing. My husband's Yahama behaves perfectly. I hate to think how this bike would do out in the elements all the time.

Weather Proofing
Nice Tip,

I was doing my over-due thorough inspection last night, and noticed some
blue drips under the fluid container. I popped the cover an saw some
staining around the screw on , fluid level was fine, so I figured it might be
the seal of cap. Now I know what it needs, that hole. I'll keep a watch on those drips. I think those were from the cleaning I did.

Thanks again
