RealClassic readers will understand me when I say that I usually cruise around our Cornish lanes at about one Hoseason or less. For the uninitiated that's 55mph. It's plenty quick enough for winter conditions - usually wet and muddy roads, and allows for easy avoidance of emmets and tractors. In summer, or on the single track lanes that we have in abundance, if you are going faster than the cyclists then you are doing well. 70mph on the A30 is OK and we don't have any motorways within 90 miles of home so that's irrelevant really. I'm one chilled bunny these days, enjoying the ride and the places I get to rather than wondering "wot'll she do, mister?".
