Modern Vespa

Anyone know what make and model scooters Team Penske Porsche is using as their pit bikes? I'm referring to the American Le Mans Series not NASCAR here.

They are Honda EZ-Cubs. Been around a long time. Don't think they are made anymore. Very cool design and street legal in some places. Also a ski/track combo kit for snow.

These are the EZ-90 Honda cubs. The most popular scooters in the racing world since they were introduced, mostly because they look good, go fast, are rugged (honda..) and have lots of body real estate to put your paint and logos on. They are also pretty good in the dirt, which most of the scooters are not.

They haven't been made since 93 or so, and they are impossible to find. I looked for years before giving up and buying ruckuses to use at the track, which were slow and clunky compared to the EZ-90. If you can find one, and it is in good shape, be prepared to pay about $2000. Penske has probably owned these forever and they have probably had several different paint schemes...


Cool scooters. But I can't imagine anywhere they would be street legal without lights, signals, etc, unless you could buy a kit with that stuff?

Did you take that shot at Road Atlanta this weekend?

3 on Ebay now. Saw two localy here this year and had to resist due to lack of ability to use on the street and concerns about part availability as well as unsure if there was any performance stuff available. they are pretty cool looking.

Saw these at Road America back in August. They're cool but not nearly as cool as the Ferrari Vepsas!

Saw these at SLC last year. Although I am a Porsche guy - these do rock.
