Has anybody come across an immobilizer LED (GTV 250) which is on continuously instead of blinking?
The bike is a few days old and the LED has just started to be on solid after a good soak of london rain.
I guess it is either a malfunction or a diagnostic...
The bike is running absolutely fine so far.
Thank you

How many flashes does it give you BEFORE it goes on solid? Or is it on solid with the key turned off?

It can happen if any moisture gets into connections to and/or inside whatever 'brain' it has. The driver electronics for the LED have quite high impedance values so a slight bit of 'dirty' moisture can cause the switching circuit 'on'.

I've seen the immobiliser LED go solid on one of my X9s. Taking its digidash apart and leaving in the airing cupboard overnight cured the fault, sensible use of silicon sealant prevented further water ingress.

Your fault may be elsewhere in the system, but will be essentially the same idea.

I wonder if that could be the problem with my non-functioning immobilizer antenna. The potting over the RF modem has two very small holes on its surface.

Jim means in a warm, dry area.

Most don't have airing cupboards or hot presses over here. Mostly our water heaters are in our basements

Context is everything. And thank you for not calling them 'hot water heaters!'

thank you!
Many thanks for the very detailed reply (jimc!).
I think moisture getting into the system may be the answer, as the vintage features of the GTV leave more opportunities for the rain to get in there.
And it all started after a good soak...
I'm taking the bike to the dealer for a check, I'll let you know if they come up with another answer.
