Hey there all. I have a VNA engine and the carb I removed says: UA16S1
Can anyone tell me anything about this carb, or where to find rebuild kit? Thanks.

Actually, that's Rover Eric (PM here https://modernvespa.com/forum/privmsg.php?mode=post&u=2654
Eric knows his stuff and can certainly help. Max at MotorSport Scooters (http://www.scooterwest.com) is also a wealth of knowledge and can sell you the parts you need. |

Thank you everyone
Thanks for all the good direction. You are right about the engine, it's of a VNA2M. 1958 125. It's from my allstate. well, worst case scenario, I try to build some gaskets myself.
Thanks again. -David |

Are we still talking about this carb?
You've had multiple people offer complete ones to you, haven't you? ( i read Tom G's response to you on the BBS ) why are you still trying to find individual parts for this thing when people have offered you a whole new one ? |

ua carb
Thanks for reminding me, I e-mailed Tom.
I may be anal, but I just don't want to spend money that I don't have to. I'm disabled with not a lot of cash, so I'm trying to do this project smart. But, it's true, I'm too cheap at the same time. I have the carb and parts that came with it, but not sure of their usability. Thats why I keep asking. Again, you're right, I need to stop thinking of 10 different options and go with one. Thanks for slapping me back to sense. -David |

I'm not trying to be mean ... it's just like ... you're getting hung up in details.
If you're doing a ground up, nut and bolt sort of deal on this bike, then i can understand trying to make this carb work at all costs - even buying a new one as needed. Honestly, though, i think you're going to be pretty disappointed with the speed and performance of this engine. It's seriously a dead end. I would be looking for a later 4-speed VNB or VBB engine to replace the one you have. Don't get me wrong - the piston ported engine you have is a very SOLID engine, and is reliable, etc... but it's just a complete dog. |

it's cool
You're 100% right...
But in my situation, I can't be too picky. I got this scoot for $300. Knowing a long and slow process is ahead of me. But I just wanted the steps I take, to be worth while. If I can get this thing right, even if it's a dog, I'll be very happy. Then, if and when I can, I can be a little more choosy. And believe me, I appreciate your honesty and advice. |

In futhering my point, this carb is kinda hard to get in that it's unusual and not purchasable from a store new, but it's kinda not at the same time.
People tend to NOT run this engine, upgrading to a different one ... and as such there's a crop of these carbs laying around unused. |
