Hi,
I am looking at a W reg (2000) ET4 this week with the intention to purchase it. Can anyone advise me of anything that I should be looking out for when giving it the once over?

I know to look for scratches, dents and to check all electrics but I dont know if there is anything else that I should be looking at???

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks
Ian

Hey, good luck on your purchase. I just recently (1 month ago) bought a used 2005 ET4. I love it. Mine didn't even have 300 miles on it. We made sure the fuel system, lines were clean and that it ran well. Gas gets old and causes a lot of problems if run through the system. We started it and let it idle for a while ran it for several miles, turned it off, let it sit and then did it all over about 3 times before we passed any money. So far, I've had no problems.

I am sure other posters can provide better suggestions for higher mileage issues to look for such as breaks, tires, belts and rollers, etc.

Enjoy your new ride if you end up getting it!

Aside from the obvious (it runs, right?) most ET's will need to have the fuel line replaced due to cracking as early as 1 year old. A cheap and easy fix.

Don't fret the clock...it's not hooked up to the electrical system (it has it's own battery) and even when it's working it's often not working well, so a non-working clock is not worth the time of day...on an ET, neither is a working one.

There is a little LED on the dash that should start blinking steadily off and on about once per second after the scooter is turned off. If it's not, let us know what it is, or isn't doing.

How many miles on it? Knowing that, more specific advice can be given.

Good luck. They are great machines.
