I'm heading into my first fall/winter weather on the scoot and have a question about the wind... At what point do I worry about wind blowing over my parked scoot? We're expecting 30mph wind on Friday, gusts to 40 or so...

I know that's probably not sh!t compared to what you guys get in the midwest, but I'm interested in your perspective...

Thanks in advance!

One tip would be to maybe park it flat on solid ground! no slopes or grass! and stack the pet carrier with bricks

That happened to me after Hurricane Ike went through Indiana. They were gusting at about 60, I think...

One of my friends suggested that it was a fight between jealous rivals...car and scooter.

I would become alarmed if and when you and the scoot become separated.

Answer: Once you realize you're no longer in Kansas....

I've seen 2 bikes blown over by the wind in the span of 5 minutes. Both on their center stand and it was no where near 30-40 MPH. I'd try to park them into the wind, don't put a cover on them (they make a nice sail I'd bet) and park inside if possible.

Definitely don't cover it. The cover will be a sail and it'll knock the scoot over, no doubt.

The highest wind I remember my scoot being parked in was 35mph. It was in an open parking lot and it was fine.

Don't know what the threshold for knocking over is (and I'm sure it has a lot to do with direction, buildings/obstructions, etc...)

Glad it didn't hurt the fence.

No! I would never do that. The scooter was fine, but my car has 2 tiny little scratches on the fender.

If I were going to try for sympathy, I'd push myself over.
