If I've had everything appart,
-hook up oil line -remove carb -remove spark plug and squirt a little oil in the cylinder -twist throttle so pump arm is all the way forward -kick like a mad man when you see oil welling up from the hole in the gasket, re-attach carb this way I know the oil is getting through the system ...edit... you can do this with the carb attached but it's hard to see the oil dribble out o the hole or hook everything up and run the first 1/2 tank of gas pre-mixed, the pump "should" self prime...you can let an air bubble into the oil line and watch if it moves toward the pump sean s |

Thanks Fellas!
Thats pretty mich what I had done. I used some compressed air to push the oil up the line until it was coming out of the line I then attached it to the carb. Fired the engine up with a bit of premix in the tank and went for a ride. So far it seems to be ok. |

Rover Eric wrote: This is what i do. A little bit of premix in the first tank ( better to run only a SMALL amount of gas, even, if you're really careful about this stuff ...like, maybe only a quart or so, premixed ) and then make sure an air bubble in the line moves towards the oil pump once the engine is running. Also used this technique on my Derbi after replacing the oil pump. Put 1.5 liter of premix in the fuel tank. Filled the 2T oil tank to the very top. Rode it for a while and then checked the oil lines for bubbles and the level of oil in the 2T oil tank to be sure it dropped. And Bob's your uncle! Al |
