Has anyone upgraded their mp3 lights to PIAA or something brighter without messing with wires?

The PIAA H8 bulb is harder than hell to get. We tried going through PIAA themselves but they stated that the H8 bulb "is not being imported at this time". You can find some other Japanese H8 bulbs on eBay and that's where I got mine. They work pretty good and have a slight blue-ish color to them so they definitely stand out. Good luck!

So I just replace the H8 with the original lights? The manual says they are H1. Can you explain the difference. Thank you.

PIAA H1 Headlight bulbs

I had the factory bulps replaced with PIAA H1's (regular/high beam) and there is a big difference. Fellow member frankenplanes did the installation for me and to my understanding he didn't have to touch the wires. You can send him a PM for additional information. |

I know nothing of PIAA lights. Can someone plese explain what they are and why they are better for our MP3s? I don't think the lighting I have currently is sufficient but then I also read in some posts about lights getting too hot or too much for our 12 volt batteries. Of course I am probably taking it out of context but I wanted to cover all the bases.
Thanks, Dale |

Thanks, Dale There really is nothing wrong with the stock lights but I wanted something a little brighter so that I could see better and not to blind other motorist. The PIAAs are super bright but use less wattage (not sure if that's the correct term) on the battery than the stock lights. They do make a difference as they light up the road better. Think of it like this, you see cars driving down the road who have "regular" lights and then other cars who have "brighter" white lights...those are what the PIAAs would do for your scooter. |
