Well the original factory battery on my 2003 LT 150 just died Pretty damn great for lasting this long IMOH. When i travel off island i just throw some seafoam in the gas tank and cover him. Never used a battery tender. Almost 6 yrs on the battery which seems unbelievable to me. I guess he got lonely on this last vacation and wanted some attention

CJ i'll let you know when the LX battery dies. Amazing how much difference their is between the LT and LX 150 models. Same engines but the LT is by far a better running scooter I wish i could put the LX body on the LT an then i'd be one happy camper. LX is lovable but has enough "quirks" to drive you insane

Bought my 2005 ET4 in September of 2004. Still have the same battery. Do use a bettery tender in the winter, though.

Cincinnati John wrote: Maybe all the battery tender talk is just hype... Using a battery tender is like taking Tylenol every night to treat a persistent headache. If your headache doesn't go away on it's own it's probably a symptom of more serious problem. That problem might be treatable. It might even be pretty minor. My batteries remain fully charged during -40 winters. They will die eventually, but you shouldn't need a tender until they do. When a battery stops taking a full charge, replace it. |

One year almost to date. and I only had to jump it once, due to the aux lights even then the scoot charged the battery its self. .
I never understood why so many people who can ride almost year round, use battery trickle chargers. |

My 2005 GT200 OEM battery is still going strong after more than three years and 11,000 miles.

My first one lasted three and a half years. The last four months it was on a trickle charger at night.
My second one lasted three weeks. Needless to say I took it back. The makers of the battery only wanted to give me partial credit. The guy that owned the shop told them if they didn't replace if for free they could come get all their batteries out of his shop. I got it free. My third one is going strong. |
