Since the maintenance schedules are timed to thousands of kilometres (according to my owner's manual, at least) i thought it'd be a good idea to change the digital display to show the mileage in metric and do away with any mathematical conversions.

For those whose digital display still shows mi instead of km and would like to switch, here's how:
(thanks to ramblerdan for providing the pics and instructions by the way.)

SETTING UNITS OF MEASUREMENT

Press (and hold for at least 3 seconds) MODE "button 'N' and simultaneously
switch to "on" the ignition key.

The icons "KMI" and "° E" will start flashing.

"Kmi" represents the combination of "km" (kilometers) and "mi" (miles)

"° E" represents the combination of "° C" (degrees celsius) and "° F" (degrees fahrenheit).

By pressing the "MODE" 'N' for less than a second icons "km" and "mi" are selected so sequentially.

Press the button "SET" 'M' to confirm the choice made.

Now is the flashing icon that indicates the temperature "° C or ° F".

By pressing the "MODE" 'N' for less than a second icons "° C" and "° F" will be selected on the way sequentially.

Press the button "SET" 'M' to confirm the choice made.

It's easy enough to convert, just round it off. 3,000, 6,000, 12,000, 18,000, 24,000 all you need to do is remember 3,000 or 6,000 mile intervals.

Not hard at all.
