Ok, I'm getting a little bored so I thought I'd bring out a question that I think will get a flood of replies (and ruffle a few hairs along the way)

I own a 400 and i hate her fat ass but i do love its Decepticon face. And the fat ass do balance out the massive front end, especially with a topbox on.

Don't kill me if i say i think the 500 looks like a tadpole from chernobyl. it has a big head, five eyes and a skinny rear end. hehe Razz emoticon But seeing some of the pictures on this forum, i think the 500 look really good with a topbox too.

Just a matter of personal opinion, no offence people.

For me it was a toss up between the 400 and 500. Went with the 400 because I liked the looks better. Another plus was the extra storage space.

Just a little partial since I have a 250 Mp3. But I love everything. I feel it
should have won invention of the year, or bike. Cruisen back from my 1st
Track Day I noticed just how aerodymamic the bike is . Could be because
of that bulbous derier. Sure allows me to put plenty of junk in the trunk. As
to the Track Day experience, just went to watch, and was really impressed
with the facilities in San Marcos , Texas. Beautiful layout.

Not an owner....yet. Have been looking for a short time at both. And like both. The extra storage of the 250/400 might end up being the deciding factor. I'm an old fart so the 250 might well be all I need anyway.

I've been reading this forum for almost a year now. Saving my pennies since I don't live off credit (especially now but I've been doing it for years).
I was pretty settled on going for the 500, maybe catch a winter sale. But now that I have seen the updated-revised-face lifted 250/400, I am leaning back towards the 250. Economy and storage, plus the new 14 inch rear tire.

I guess my big question is when will the new 250/400 be showing up in dealerships? How long till they make it to the US?

I own the 400 but like the looks of the 500 better. I bought the 400 used and got a good price, plus I love the extra storage. My dream is an 800 that looks like the 500 but has lots of storage.

I sold my 250 and got the 500 solely because of the look of the 500, but I also wanted more oomph. I miss the storage of the 250, but offset it pretty well with a 52 liter top box and a tunnel bag. The trade off was well worth it. The 500 just says "What do you think of my scooter NOW!?!?".

yes, how i envy you 500 owners. it has attitude written all over it and with enough horses to match. would love to own both if i could. i'd ride the 400 when i'm in a good mood and the 500 if i wanna say "I'm in a bad mood so don't piss me off!" Razz emoticon

I think the Fuoco looks like a dinosaur and the MP3 250/400 like an insect; I like the insect better. But price and fuel economy were bigger factors than esthetics in my purchase decision. For me the 400 hits the "sweet spot" on power, mpg, and cost.

I own the 250 and absolutely love it. I bought it for the mileage so I am getting exactly what I wanted. That is not to say I don't long for a little more power from the larger cc models!

I think I agree with Ramblerdan in that the 500 looks like a dinosaur and the 250/400s look like insects. They both appeal to me. The 500 is badder looking but the 250/400s also look bad - just the 500 more so. But I wanted storage and gas mileage and the 250 has just what I need. Though I wished the 250 came in the same colours as the 500. Though I do like my graphite black I would have picked the red/black combo in the 500 over the black in the 250. Of course ramblerdan's yellow is pretty stunning.

I have the very common 400 Blue. But more power would be nice too - say a MP3-850. If/when Piaggio makes one I'd be in line to get it.

I always loved the crazy look of the 500, to me so Mad max like,
almost like a creature you ride instead of a machine.
A bit Arachnid, with all those eyes.
My main riding buddy see's it quite differently, and says it looks
to him like a John Deere tractor! -yikes!
Recently he posted in our local Maxi scooter forum that "Rob,
riding his little Italian lawnmower, trounced my Silverwing
in the twisties today.."
I had to laugh.

The 500 is just so unique. It is one of the reasons I bought it. I looked at a blue 400 as well but bought the 500. Plus where I live I have yet to see another MP3 of any kind. There is no other scooter on the market today with the looks of the MP3 500.

I have the 250 but don't like the way it looks... I love the way the 500 looks and want one.
