Excuse my ignorance:

1) When will the 2009 GTS models be available for sale in New Jersey?

2) Are the 2009 GTS models - same color choices as in 2008?

3) When will the Super GTS (300) be available for sale in New Jersey?

4) Does Vespa USA web-site ever indicate year of model that is being displayed on their web-site?

Thanks so much

1) Several folks have already gotten '09 GTSs, across the country, so I'd say it just depends on what your dealer has, and what they can get.

2) Same color choices, as far as I've heard.

3) Latest we know from the folks who went to the dealer expo/meeting/thing is that they'll come to the US sometime early-ish next year.

4) Not usually, but we've also heard they may re-design their site next year. Most models don't change much, if at all, from year to year. If they do, they just call it a different model.

1) I just recently got one three weeks ago from the Metuchen dealer. However, when I was there for its first service today, they were sold out of all of their Vespas.

2) I thought it was just black and white, but I could be mistaken.

3) It's coming to the states, sometime early next year I believe is what was said.

We bought a 2009 GTS for my wife in July from the Charlotte, NC dealer so they have been out for several months now.

2009 models are out now. The GTS comes in Red, Yellow, Black and Silver.

the 300 super is coming out in December/January and the dealers in Canada are taking pre-orders now for this scooter.

my local dealer has many 2009 GTS 250's, and my black one sitting there waiting for me to buy.

I think you will see a bit of a price drop on the 250 once the 300 is available. So if the 250 is what you want, I would hold out for a bit.

#1. The 2009 GTS also comes in Midnight Blue. We own one.
#2. Yellow has been discontinued as a GTS color for the USA
#3. Don't hold your breath waiting for a price drop on the GTS when the 300 comes out. Most likely, all Vespa's will see a price increase around the first quarter of the year due to increased costs for labor & materials. I used to do a substantial amount of business with two, Italian manufacturers for over ten years and that's usually when most Italian manufacturer's take a price increase.

that is amazing news. I now have something to present to my wife. If I dont buy it now then I may be subjected to paying more in the new year.

Yes!! Why didnt I think of this sooner.

They have a silver 2007 GTS 250 brand new for 1000.00 cheaper. I just really want the black one, but 1000.00 is a nice break.

2008 GTS vs. 2009 GTS
While availability is a limiting factor - why would someone buy a GTS 2008 now if the 2009's have already been released. If my understanding is correct from responses - the 2008 and 2009 are the same model. Only color options have changed - with Yellow not available in 2009 (USA) and Midnight blue added in 2009.

Are there any structural or mechanical differences between the two years?

Help me out here - how are they "moving" the 2008's at the same price as the 2009?

Thanks so much.

Some dealer's still have 2008 models and won't order replacements (09 models) until they sell what they have. Other dealers sold all of their 08's and most dealers had a very good summer for sales so Piaggio's warehouses were cleaned out. There is no difference between an 08 & an 09 model GTS.

If there is only one or limited dealers in your area, depending on demand, the dealer can hold out for a higher price. Keep in mind that the margin that the dealer has to work with on scooters is very, very low so the $1000 off that Bosco found on a 2007 GTS is exceptional.

Confirmed! I wanted yellow, but was told they are no longer available. Settled for a Rosso Dragon (bright red) one instead. This was in early August, '09 models.

In Europe... you can't, I don't think. One of the digits in the VIN number is probably relevant, but it really doesn't matter that much....
