OK, first post. Yes the MP3 is growing on me, except the styling of the 500, sorry, ugly. 400 doesn't get much of a mention above? Don't suppose anyone knows the reason for the very odd price structure, ie cost of 400 in relation to 250 & 500? D. |

Hi, welcome. I spent my first year going to salt lake and test riding the 250 when it first came out. The 400 and 250 have the same body style, so why should it cost any difference? Well the 400 and the 500 have pretty much the exact same engine, it is just bored a little bit differently. Well, since the engines are the same why don't they cost the same? must be due to the fact that the body style is different. Who knows. I always wondered why the 400 was only $200 less. That's not much of a difference. There is a 500 in Idaho Falls if your interested. They'll probably give you a deal. I first thought the 500 was ugly as well, but when you see them side by side, and sit on them, the 500 becomes very attractive.......really fast.

You just have to embrace the crazy looks of the 500,
I named mine "brutto" ( ugly in Italian ), and have grown fond of it. I agree with hepworth, the 500 has nicer appointments. |

i was intrigued by the mp3's, thought they were the coolest things ever, except for the 500, thought they were plain ugly, after staring at it for some time at the dealer, it grew on me, it looks mean and aggressive, i love it, as my sister refers it to the scooter that looks like a crawfish

Sorry, but I just have to chime in here. I know some think the 500 as 'ugly', but I am the opposite. I owned a 250 and I loved it except that it and the 400 look like a scooter made by Volvo to me. The 500 looks more like a feral beasts and several other bikers have said the same to me. With my old scoot, I wouldn't dare mix with the biker crowd, but the 500 just gives them an evil sneer and they love it. I put my vote in for the looks of the 500 being more sinister and evil. I like the fact that you're less likely to get a "that's cute" remark on the 500, but more likely to get a "that's badass".

The turn signals were broken on the front of both MP3 500's in my dealer's showroom. I have plenty git up and go, with my 400. |
