A riding buddy of mine owns a Bajaj Chetak. He took it to a shop to fix an issue of it not shifting, which ended up being a clutch cable replacement and gear cable. (If my terminology is correct)
The shop kept the bike for like a month and he gave them lip about having it so long. They said "Oh sorry" He said he'd go somewhere else next time.

So now it runs really slow. Lacking much power. I helped him change the oil and spark plug as basic maintenance, but I don't know whats up with the power or how to help him.

Any advice?

No, YOU go to the Bajaj Forum.

I know your probably right, I just don't want to sign up and go through all that. I think my friend is too lazy to find out himself. I'm just trying to get some ideas.

Does it feel like the clutch could be slipping rather than the scoot itself is lacking power? It could be they never adjusted anything when they installed the new clutch and cables.

No. I rode next to him and it took him too long to even reach 40mph. It just doesn't get the top speed it used to or the pickup to get there.

I could see that being the case for slipping clutch though... the output of the engine isn't making it to the wheels like it should be. If you're sure that's not the case then that's not the case, but it seems awfully coincidental following clutch and clutch cable replacement.

Would you like me to post your question under my account name? That way you can look at all the comments that follow without actually having to take the extra 4 minutes to sign up? Trust me, you'll get much better help over there with technical Bajaj questions.

Um I saw some info on there is an old thread I found in a search. It looks like it may be way over my head and should be looked at by a professional. Originally I told him to take it to Greasy but for some reason he didn't. His loss.

That was my 1st thought too. If you're friend had already given them "lip" they might just not have taken the time to adjust the cable.
