Modern Vespa

I had read in a couple of different places that it would be possible to use a 140/70-12 for a rear tire for the 250. Is this really possible? Has someone on this list done this - if so what have been your results? What are the pros/cons of this size tire for the rear?

I am currently riding a 140/70-12 Zippy 1 rear tire on my 250. Several others on the forum have reported this size in different brands. A Piaggio rep off the record told me to try it. On the Zippy 1 there is a much higher speed and load rating going from 130 to 140 and the 130 Zippy rating is marginal for the 250 with a max speed rating of 75 mph.
