After eight very long protracted weeks (another story) at a local scoot shop having a Tow-Pac Inc minitrike kit installed (and supposedly some electronic mods {again another story}) the Smrfmobile has come home!!!! He was delivered about 420pm yesterday.

One problem I noticed after my initial test ride to pick up some take out from my fav Japanese restaurant, 1.5 miles from my home...I thought scooters were supposed to be great on gas mileage and help make running errands faster... the 3 mile round trip took me 1.5 HOURS and 35 MILES before I made it home! LOL I only turned around as I admitted to myself that my sushi was only getting warmer by the minute sitting in the pet carrier.

I was way too excited to park the Smrfmobile nicely to take updated pics but will do it later today.

pics pics pics
Here's the pics. From day one to this morning and crazily, temporarily outfitted to carry my three 10 pound pups until my chrome luggage rack & sideracks and 48 liter Coocase topcase arrive.

The gear thrown on the Smrfmobile includes two telephone books on top of the pillion seat to level out the intermediate dog crate. I also strapped on a tri-leg portable chair to sit on at the dogpark.

More permanent mods include a Gorilla 7017 alarm (worth the money), two 12v power outlets, RAM mount on right side mirror stalk for my Magellan, Stebel Air horn and of course the all famous Tow-Pac Inc minitrike kit. There were supposed to be more mods by now but the scoot shop who did the trike install failed to complete the other mods as they stated they ran out of time after having my scoot for eight weeks.

I also have a Cool Ass seat cover for when the Smrfmobile is parked and a medium sized Biker's Friend backrest bag.

BTW, Jo Anne has crossed over to the 'dark side' officially, as of 130pm yesterday she is in possession of her Cam-Am Spyder. I can't believe she got her new trike three hours before I got my scoot back in my possession.

This add on kit does not change the structural design like a true trike conversion since this does not remove the rear wheel so the two extra wheels do not add stopping power, but they do offer balance though removing the ability to lean. But, I love my PENTacycle!

Well with this mod on you are actually driving a "car" and you will not (most likely not) "sneak" between the trafic.

So you will be queueing as you normaly do with a car.

Yes, it NO longer leans and true I can no longer lane split which is fine since I'd likely not do much of it anyway BUT I still get the benefit of being able to use the carpool lane, the great gas mileage and the fun-ness of being on my scoot!!

I'm still here -- checking up on all of you!

Yes, I got my Spyder Saturday and have about 125 miles on it so far. I love it!

My MP3/trike is still for sale, no buyers yet. May have to wait until spring. We're thinking of taking the trike kit off of it and selling them spearately. May go better that way.

Frances - your bike/trike is BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I know you'll enjoy every minute of it! The not falling down part is the BEST!! Congrats!

Here's my Spyder -- Anyone have any NAME suggestions?

Think you're gonna have to update your pic Jo Anne!

Hmm, the Spyder looks like it could be a land shark to me...it would make for great graphics to put the images on it!!

NOOOO!!! JEDI'S GIRL....DON'T GO TO THE DARKSIDE! Lean or Do NOT Lean, there is no try!! Axles....these are the ways of the darkside!!! These are not the trikes you are looking for....

BTW, Hey Jodeg! Glad to see you haven't forgotten about us! Good luck with your sale and your new ride. I test rode one and liked my 500 better, but to each his/her own. The Can Am sure is nice on the eyes, though. As for names, how bout:

The Jodeg Express
The Silver Bullet

Enjoy! and hope to hear more from you about your first riding experiences with it...

firsts....
I'm happy to report that I did my first night driving this evening...from sunset til 1030pm...I just couldn't stop myself. Stopped at a few friends house to show off.

Also, burned through my first tank of gas and stopped to fill up on the way home. I was able to fill it up (without a McCuff) and didn't spill any. Me so proud of myself!!

Also, while loading up the scoot before I went for my evening ride, while attaching my Biker's Friend bag I realized the saddle release wasn't working. It too me bonking my head on the side of the saddle compartment a few times but finally figured out the cable release came off the pin that releases the saddle. A needle nose pair of pliers and some more banging my head while hanging it upside down, I got it re-attached.

What a fun filled day of FIRSTS for me!!!

Indeed Jodeg, names are fun....my toys/cars always have names.
How about these 4 starters:
InCan-neat-o.....Charlotte....Kneet-o.....Wear-it:OUT.....and the one I like best.....The Butler (When I look at the front of your $$ machine, I see a butler's jacket and shirt, your mirrors are his shoulders and the windshield his neck/head combined). Call me CRAZY? that's what I see at-a-glance..... "Jo'sButler"

Finally came up with a name for my Spyder -- TRIPOD !! Just like the sound of it -- would work for an MP3 too!

Was going to name HIM "Mad Max" -- but never saw the movie and found out from SmrfCop that it's really violent, so that was OUT! One of you macho guys might want to use it though! Laughing emoticon

The weather was wonderful today, and so I was out on Tripod all afternoon, with my husband on his Harley. It was GREAT! All back roads, not many stop signs, and lots of looks, honks and waves from people!

Won't be many more days like this -- winter will soon be here! Crying or Very sad emoticon
