ok, so when I bought my (used) ET2 it was idling pretty low (like...almost putting while at red lights) ... I was told by my mechanic friend (cadillacs not scooters) that 2 cycles don't idle easily when they are first started. so when at stop lights I just rev my throttle a little to keep it going. well when a friend borrowed my scooter they apparently filled it up with the cheap gas, and for a couple weeks my scooter seemed to be idling easier. last week... I put in 93 octane and now it is back to the same putt putt idling and actually stalled on me twice yesterday while at stop signs. Obviously the gas thing could be a complete coincidence but I just figured I should mention it.

On a side note, I took everything apart yesterday to replace the clock battery (It was not as bad as a lot of posts made it seem! but it was a stupid amount of work to just replace a battery) and everything looked really good in that part of the scooter. I also checked and added any needed fluids (brake fluid was the only stuff needed)

Any ideas on what I need to check out? Thanks!!

Have you considered turning the idle up slightly? It also could be that your jets are getting a little clogged in your carb (mine are in need of a cleaning at the moment in fact). You could try sending a healthy batch of carb cleaner through it if you didn't want to open the carb up.

Thank you for your input. I worked on my scooter today and it is running a LOT better! I turned the idle up slightly like you said. I also took out my air filter, cleaned it up, and oiled it up....and I replaced my spark plug, the one that was in there looked as though it had seen better days. A combination of those three things did the trick! (plus it was really fun to work on!)

+1 on that idea.

Mine had been sitting for 6 months before I bought mine. I had the exact same problem you're having, good chance your ET was sitting too. Just about everywhere now has the damn ethanol blend fuel that gunks up carbs. I'm guessing the smaller the carb, the worse the blended gas gunks up the carb because the jets are smaller.
