Here are some pics of my 2009 LX-S (on a sunny, squinty day in the SF Bay Area) with the new low profile seat from Pirate, my new boots, and the back of my FF helmet (it doesn't make me taller, but I like it .

5'2" with 28" inseam. I can now nearly get the balls of my feet down.

I actually have the White Vespa topcase but I took it off because my wire basket can hold so much more for everyday use. Don't know if I'm going to keep the topcase or sell it.

Nice bike! I think the black wire basket looks fine on it, with the black seat. Where'd you get the cute helmet sticker?

The sticker is actually clear vinyl that an arts and crafts friend gave me a roll of. Another friend of mine drew the heart and wings for me using some colored Sharpie pens. I like it because it can easily peel off if I want to change it.

Hey, Bonnie: Good seeing ya again (at least from this post)! I like your new seat and glad you haven't forgotten to adorn yourself with a few mods as well.

Hey Ray - I hope you're doing better! It sounds like you've been able to keep your spirits up through your whole ordeal - which is great!

Mods - yeah. I would love to add some color to my scoot, but I don't like 'permanent.' I need to be able to switch out stickers or stripes or whatever, easily. I'm not sure how most of those stickers I see work - but I don't get the impression they come off the bike easily.

We'll see.......

Hey, Bonnie: Recovery is going well with my arm. The cast comes off on 10.21! My leg is still swollen so I need to check in with my doc to see if this is the norm or if there is something wrong.

I believe Bobo printed logos, designs, etc on magnets and put them on his bike. If you can find good ink and printer to do this, it looks pretty good and it's not permanent. Of course, stickers can come off easily with goo gone. Post more pix when you decorate your bike!

Take care and hope to see you on some rides out here one day. I plan to hop back on shortly after rehap begins. Razz emoticon

Nice bike, you are looking very happy with it!
I like the idea of the basket, and the black wire looks good with the white bike. I would keep the topcase though, comes in handy sometimes! I use my topcase everyday.

Not a problem for me because I don't ride when it rains (or it's forcasted). And it is garaged at night. The beauty of Northern California is we have a long dry summer when there is no worry of rain. And in the winter, I only ride when the forecast is for clear skies.

But thanks for the thought!

Your scoot looks great!!

Those boots are also very cool. Are they comfortable? I bought some boots that kill me and I am still trying to break them in.

They are surprisingly comfortable, although I haven't used them for walking around for long periods of time. No 'break-in' time at all. They are Harley Davidson boots - called Express Lane. They have great grip on the road when I stop, and when I have to push backwards.

Hi,

May I ask how much a custom seat like this one goes for?

That seat (their basic low profile with nothing fancy) was about $400.00. That's with me supplying my old seat. A lot of money, and not something I thought I would ever do - but I was pretty desperate for a seat that worked for me. Very quick turnaround - it took five days for my seat to get there (across the country) one day for them to do the seat, and then return it to me.

Corbin seats are a little less at $349.00, but they don't do seats for late model LXs. Plus they use their own seat pan which is about 10 lbs heavier. Plus I would lose my helmet hook which would be a bummer. Plus they don't have a quick turnaround time, from what I've heard.

Anyway, it was most definitely worth it for me.

Cool basket
Where did you get your black wire basket? How did you attach it? Where did you find a small web for the top of the basket? Are those stock mirrors or are they custom shorties? I am considering shorties to avoid tapping cars as I lane split at low speeds....happens rarely but it sucks when it does even though it does no damage to car or scoot.

Thanks!
